I'm not surprised, I might have been if he had gone. But it would involve him not having a devoted crowd who cling on his farts. That's why. Plus the bigger point that he'd look even more of a dickhead if he accepted an invitation from his avowed enemy.

Why the hell would he want to go to sit in a room full of people who do nothing but constantly lie? I know you may not know this, but constantly attacking a democratically elected leader and undermining his presidency is extremely dangerous.
One of the reasons he is speaking directly to the people is to avoid the spin filter of the fake media. I suppose next your going to try and point out how the majority of the media is somehow fair and balanced and is reporting the truth, when in fact they are constantly lying to the American people and anyone else who still watches.
There is a reason that almost every poll in the US reflects that an overwhelming majority of Americans think the press is not telling the whole truth.

Trump's candidacy has exposed the true divisions in the American political landscape - not left vs. right, but the civilized vs. the barbaric.
Our differences aside, I'm not shocked we ended up on the same page in this case.

As opposed to Trump apologists who think she was surreptitiously trying to record Trump using a hidden microphone, when the smartphone in her hand would serve that purpose quite nicely?  Or that she lied, when in fact, Trump and his campaign lied repeatedly, and on record?

Far less dangerous than believing everything he says and letting him do what he likes. Your president is an adult (allegedly) and being attacked from the other side is part of the job. If he chooses to get sidetracked by criticism and starts tweeting in the early hours of the morning that's on him not anybody else. I didn't notice Obama being given similar latitude to get on with the job and 'give him a chance'.

You bloody Americans. You can't wait to get down on your knees and worship the first idiot that comes along promising you a sackful of candy.

Maybe you're not interested in allegations against Rapist Trump.  You seem to believe allegations against Hillary Clinton as proof of her guilt though.

Wunderbar!

I know, lol!  Even Matt Drudge was spreading that BS.  Their CTs have no limits.

One of my favorite feel-good movies is Happy Feet.  When it was released the CT nut jobs cautioned parents from taking their kids to see it, saying it was a vehicle for global-warming propaganda!  LMAO!

I only base my political duck-eye-shuns on cartoons, both applaud and laud!

No, I do understand there are enough bad guys on both sides to go around but things will never change if there's not some sort of Muslim reformation in which they firmly renounce their desire for a global caliphate. I'm pretty sure that will never happen because it literally commands them to do that in the Koran. I guess, in your mind, we should all just bend over and accept this?

You do understand there are enough bad guys on both sides to go around. But it appears that you don't believe there are enough *Good* Persons (man, woman, child) residing in Muslim lands (or anywhere else for that matter). Do you honestly believe that?  Given that our lives may (or do) depend on it, we really do need to distinguish between that comparatively small group of fanatical *Radical Islamists* in the world, those who seek a single global caliphate (led by themselves) and created/taken by force (i.e. by _any_ means), and that majority of Muslims for whom such things mean little or nothing. From the sound of it, you seem to believe this later majority group is a fiction, essentially non-existent, but moreover an impossibility in authentic Islam. You also seem quite confident about what the Quran does and does not say -- far more confident than most Muslims themselves are (I might add).  It might behove you to question the veracity, the truth of those later notions, i.e. the facts of the matter. I say behoove because I know that you (of all those here) _do_ want to do the right thing, and are now doing what you truly believe to be the right thing, given the information you have thusfar been exposed to and have consumed.

Is the possibility or likelihood of an actual modern-day emergent Global Caliphate a reality, or a myth, you might inquire (again). I think you can guess which of those two possibilities I subscribe to.

MD, seriously; his WIN, his being accepted, respected, honored (again) upon the World Stage will do more to help encourage and empower the cause and hopes of moderate muslims, the voice of moderate Islam, around the world (not just in Iran) more than the preaching/teaching of a dozen reform-minded Imams could. But of course the policies of the Trump administration this past month had the very opposite effect of equal or greater magnitude -- a shame really. Donald Trump succeeded in reaffirming the belief (held by many if not most Muslims) that America, Americans, and the West generally, HATE all Muslims of (virtually) any stripe or counrty of origin. That gets us nowhere -- or nowhere Good, to be exact. General McMasters has made a career and mark upon history for "Knowing"  precisely this.

If you don't think Mr. Farhadi represents the voice of progress and humanitarian good-will please read again this closing paragraph from his message (broadcast to the world) last night. (thanks)

"Dividing the world into the “us “ and “our enemies” categories, creates fear, a deceitful justification for aggression and war. These wars prevent democracy and human rights in countries which have themselves been victims of aggression. Filmmakers can turn their cameras to capture shared human qualities and break stereotypes of various nationalities and religions. They create empathy between “us” and “others,” an empathy which we need today more than ever."

First off, it's the Left who are being divisive.  As usual.  It's been explained over and over that we are trying to screen out those who would do us harm.  Why would we or any other country not do that?  I guarantee you the percentage of Moslems who hate the West is higher than the percentage of people in the West who hate Moslems.  The percentage of Moslems who would do us harm if given a chance is orders of magnitude higher than those here who would randomly kill Moslems.

Yet here the Left goes, telling the Moslems most of us hate them and, tut tut, isn't that terrible - suggesting there's really nothing more to it than that.  I doubt Mr Farhadi even mentioned terrorism in his speech condemning us, did he.  Your own post suggests these ''moderate'' Moslems do not accept there is a problem among more than some small percentage of those within their own religion.  I realize they don't want to accept that, but that's part of the problem, isn't it.

One would think ''moderate'' Moslems would realize there is a terrorism problem in Moslem majority countries, and understand that we don't want to import that and add it to the violence and crime we already have here.  Perhaps when these ''moderate'' Moslems, Mr. Farhadi, and the Left can point out which are which for us, and which have beliefs compatible with democracy, we can move forward.  Until then, you can talk all you want, and the rest of us will continue to defeat you at the ballot box.
