Yeah... But if we can cut what we spend on defense in half, we could afford to sponsor more refugees and eventually send them over the boarder for a better life in the US.  :P

Canada has about 10% of the US's legal population. When Trump gets elected we are going to send you a bill for 10% of our DoD budget to cover your share of our mutual defense. Eh.

You're not planning to vote for Trump? What a nice surprise. I think my work here is done. As far as I'm concerned, you're entitled to see the world any way you like. As long as that doesn't put a Trump-like object in the White House, or cause other actual problems in the world, beliefs are just beliefs.
You have absolutely nothing to do with my view towards Trump.  You dodged my question of why you Never Trumpers feel obliged to lie incessantly about his background and his positions. Or why his enemies have come up dry in finding negative history to report on a man with a 20 year public record and hundreds, perhaps thousands of close relationships?  His pro politician opponents lie with alacrity and you don't make a peep.  Trump is open and honest about his decidedly unPC views and you can be relied on to twist, omit, and take things out of context to portray him as the next H****r.   It must be that your arguments can't stand on their own so you demonize the man.

I'm happy to credit any sane voice you're listening to. The main thing is, you're not voting for him. Also, as much as you appear to defend him and agree with them, you must have serious doubts about his candidacy. Otherwise, you would follow through and vote for him.

The idea you've stated that you only defend what he says because you dislike his critics is ridiculous. You either agree with what he's proposing or you don't, regardless of what his critics say or don't say. Try just addressing the policy issues sometime -- purely on their own merits, and lack thereof -- and leave other people's opinions out of it.

Banning Muslims from entering the country, forcing Mexico to pay for a wall, letting Japan, S. Korea and Saudi Arabia get the bomb? Forget what anyone else thinks about all the crap he says. Stop reacting to that. What do YOU think of his ideas? And why won't you vote for him? I'd like to think you have some actual opinions and are not just trolling people who do have opinions.

Trump sure fell off the face of the earth since the Matthews interview. Haven't heard any buzz for days.

No one's voice but mine.  If you look a back at my posts, you'll see I was generally anti-Trump.  But then the Stop Trump dog pile began on the guy for not using political double speak and for unmasking the PC-hobbled elites who'd rather put the country in decline than tell the truth about the real world. I'm just more anti-liar than anti-Trump.  Seems your answer is to keep the status quo even though we know how that's going to go.

However you started out, you really do come off as a Trump supporter and a Trump voter now. You defend the man, you defend his policies as he's stated them, you seem to see the world as he does, you don't give his critics any credit for having valid reasons for opposing him, you think he's been treated unfairly and you sound generally pissed off with the world, like Trump himself.

Why not just own up to it and admit he's your guy? From what you've said, I don't see how you could bring yourself to vote for anyone else still in the race.

I'm beginning to wonder if they will even make it to the convention.  The wheels are coming off the Trump campaign bus.  They actually sent this out tonight:

There doesn't appear to be any adult supervision on his team.

What a class act, The Donald is. Truly Presidential. I`ll bet all his followers are very proud of him.

Yeah, this is who we want in charge of our national security. The guy with the "good brain."

http://theresurgent.com/donald-trump-got-locked-out-of-his-own-data/

"The leader of the data team for Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump left the campaign last month, Politico reported Tuesday.

The campaign laid off Matt Braynard, a former Republican National Committee strategist and the leader of Trump’s data team. Braynard didn’t train a successor, according to Politico.

The campaign hasn’t been able to access some of its own data since Braynard’s exit.

To replace Braynard, the campaign is relying on its No. 2 â€" a data engineer who reportedly does not have a lot of high-level political strategy experience.

The campaign has also given some of the responsibilities to a recent college graduate.

Has the Trump train lost steam? Is Trump going down to Cruz? What is Trump going to do next? I think people are starting to see Trump might not get the nominee. But do not write him off yet because NY is his city and he will have a lot of support there. Question is can he close out before the GOP nominee primary? Does the math say no I am not sure but would be nice to see!!1

Sort of a "Four Yorkshireman" but for politics, I guess? The thing I say is that we need to think of it in terms of framing. Obviously we will never get a "pure" country political-wise because we are very diverse in opinion. But, most often, it is one side which compromises so, to me, I like the more extreme promises because it will always be compromised to get something passed. So you start with a position like "no more Muslims" once the negotiations and horse-trading happens, under pressure from the media and big oil Arab money, it would move into something like "Muslims applying for immigration or VISAs should be vetted and/or surveilled for a time period." Or "build a Wall and Mexico will pay" might morph in "at least secure the border" or "no more catch-and-release policies towards criminal illegals" per the Obama Doctrine or even "fine companies and have criminal penalties for who hires them" (doubt that will happen though.) But if we start with innocuous promises- like the identities of Muslim immigrant "refugees" should at least be verified the media, Democrats, etc with make the proposition get watered-down and we just continue in the Obama way of open-borders and unverified "refugees."

First off I want to say I enjoy talking Trump with you. You seem to be one of the most level headed Trump supporters I have every seen anywhere  :D

I see what strategy you are saying, but if he does get elected I think it could really backfire on him and the Republican party. If he does fall more in the centre after being elected, wouldn't most of his supporters feel cheated and think if we wanted somebody to play it safe, why not just elected an established guy. If he continues to go with the extreme view after elected, I can see nothing being passed, and if they do get passed it will be held up in courts. Remember even if Trump would nominate Scalia replacement, the SC is still pretty centralised. I doubt he would get any of the liberal judges decision and I'm guessing some of the more moderate republican appointees are not going to give him any favours especially if they have loyalties to the Republican establishment.

There just doesn't seem to have much of a long game with Trump.

This AM, the pundits sound like they did the morning after Iowa.  They don't learn. Trump lost by 13% in a state where he was expected to lose pretty strongly.  The Anointed One's holy roller shtick won't sell in the NE and, unlike WI, the GOP organizing resources there are weak. Trump's problem, though, is that the establishment is setting Cruz up as their sacrificial delegate sponge so they can lawyerize the convention and dismantle Trump's strength by manipulating the delegate and nomination rules; even if he has the magic 1237.  Then their "white horse" (being selected now) will arrive and Cruz will find that it's pay-back time for being a sanctimonious dick.  And DT will do a Teddy Roosevelt and announce his independent run after being fucked over by the Party establishment.  And we'll get Clinton Inc.

Get liquid, folks, before the smell of death hits the markets.

Up All Night

Trump breaks 50 percent mark in New York  :D

http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/275350-trump-tops-50-percent-in-new-york-cruz-in-third-place

Donald Trump has a more than two-to-one lead over his closest rival, John Kasich, in the Republican presidential front-runner's home state of New York, a new poll finds.

A Monmouth University survey released Wednesday shows Trump taking 52 percent support, followed by Kasich at 25 percent. Ted Cruz has 17 percent.

The April 19 primary in New York will go a long way toward determining whether Trump can reach the 1,237 delegates he needs to win the GOP nomination outright and avoid a contested convention.

At Trump’s current level of support, he’s on pace to take a strong majority of the state’s 95 delegates, and it appears that he may run the board.

“If this result holds in every single congressional district, Trump will walk away with nearly all of New York State’s delegates,” said Monmouth University pollster Patrick Murray.

Actually I don't mind gridlock if it stops worse happening or rash actions. The system was designed for gridlock. I also don't hold the Supreme Court Justices as Gods. They have made bad decisions in the past and are just people. I'm actually more like Jefferson on the Court or like Andy Jackson and would tell them "you enforce it" on some of their decisions. They have extended their own jurisdiction and now are, essentially, the sole arbiters of everything- the other branches of government, the States, the people be damned. That is not a representative republic, much less a democracy. Having said that I think the Executive Branch also has far too many agencies and power- and power, excepting key Constitutionally delineated responsibilities, should be devolved to the States, Counties, and People.

Hi Trumpsters. I am still strongly in Bernie's camp but I have to tell you all this talk about a brokered convention is pissing me off  >:(
If the Republican Party is still trying to pretend America is still a democracy, they better let the guy with the most votes win the nomination. I think the US is not a democracy but an oligarchy run by the top 1%. So GOP prove me wrong and follow your own people's decisions.  Up the Revolution! Have a nice day  :)

I'm concerned that it may get very ugly by Fall.  Folks aren't as complacent as a generation ago, they see what's being done to them, and won't take this crap from the party insiders easily. The insiders in both parties are planning some very nasty manipulation of the delegate credentialing and voting processes.

Exactly. I suggest that everyone, if they are ever bored, to browse around in the Federal Register. There is almost nothing in our lives, businesses, property, etc that are not covered by some regulations. And look at the new rules and proposals. Interestingly most all of this stuff nobody ever voted on but was put in place by agencies.

America isn't a democracy.  It is a Republic.

Just after the completion and signing of the Constitution, in reply to a woman's inquiry as to the type of government the Founders had created, Benjamin Franklin said, "A Republic, if you can keep it."

"Hence it is that democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and in general have been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths... A republic, by which I mean a government in which a scheme of representation takes place, opens a different prospect and promises the cure for which we are seeking."J ames Madison, Federalist Papers No. 10 (1787).

"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote!" Ben Franklin

“A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.” Thomas Jefferson

“Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide.” John Adams

I'm not sure it is even a representative republic at this time. That would imply that somebody's vote matters or what laws passed by their representatives at the State or National level would hold sway and not just be allowed or denied by 9 unelected people with life-time positions.

"At the establishment of our constitutions, the judiciary bodies were supposed to be the most helpless and harmless members of the government. Experience, however, soon showed in what way they were to become the most dangerous; that the insufficiency of the means provided for their removal gave them a freehold and irresponsibility in office; that their decisions, seeming to concern individual suitors only, pass silent and unheeded by the public at large; that these decisions, nevertheless, become law by precedent, sapping, by little and little, the foundations of the constitution, and working its change by construction, before any one has perceived that that invisible and helpless worm has been busily employed in consuming its substance. In truth, man is not made to be trusted for life, if secured against all liability to account."
-Thomas Jefferson in a letter to Monsieur A. Coray, Oct 31, 1823
