President Donald J. Trump

Obama was elected with " hope and change "...used very rudimentary anti-bush rhetoric and beat the establishment candidate (Clinton)... The public looked past many gaffes and past discretions....it could happen again in both parties! Fun stuff...
I remember all of the outrage from the right that Obama was the least vetted presidential candidate in history. Utter BS, of course, but it is hilarious that they now refuse to pay any attention at all to the overwhelming body of evidence that Trump makes Gerald Ford look like the second coming of Lincoln.

I know, it is crazy. He still won't release any details of his foreign travels, his scholarships (if any,) marks and papers, and source of funding for his schooling and travels. And I haven't seen even basics of how many passports he has held over his life;and issued from which countries and under what names. I do recall some State Dept employees got in trouble when they just tried to look up the basics. And the SS# issue is also very odd. The original "man of mystery." But you'd think now he would release some information. He can't run again and has made his place in history (and millions.) Why hide so many details now? For all his possible ills at least The Donald can claim his life is, pretty much, an open-book. Excepting the recent IRS records, but considering that Obama uses the IRS for political-targeting and he is under another audit I don't blame him for not releasing them until audit is over and potentially opening himself up for some political prosecution by the IRS.

Hard argument to make given his business success...and the fact both dems and reps took his money in the past...most kids that inherit squander the family fortune... Trump hasn't...

Yeah, the thing escalated crazy on both sides. Simply "I'm sorry" and an acceptance. Instead everyone wants to hit the lawsuit settlement lottery or make some weird political points.

BTW, to your comments. Just had another one a few weeks ago. Unless you are protecting someone in immediate danger it is a better policy to alert the bouncer or call the cops. Lest you inadvertently kill the guy and then get prison time and some lawsuits. Simple shoves or fights can result in unintended accidents and severe consequences.

There ya go.  The issue is grabbing some by the arm in an open setting to move them away from a candidate. You've equated it to a killing over "groping women at a bar".  Groping is a sexual act.  Raising it iin the context of Lewandoawski is exactly the way the MSM are twisting it; as are people comparing it to an assault on their wife or daughters (as Kasich did today).

I just don't believe that being good at running a real estate business means he would make a good president.  That's like saying Michael Jordan would be a good president because he is a good basketball player.

Sorry if I was not clear or maybe you missed my point(s) that really were two.

One, the issue with the reporter getting her arm squeezed a bit (maybe) is ridiculous and a non-event. But due to the politics and lawsuit culture will be amplified. And since both Parties, and certainly the media, are against Trump (though like the ratings and his money) anything, anyone will be escalated.

The Second was even in actual crimes (like someone sexually groping your wife etc) when the event has passed and you are not actually protecting her from harm it is better, especially when everyone is drunk, to inform the police and bouncers and not start a fight that could potentially ruin your career or life (as well as the perv.)

Wasn't that Obama's sole qualification? He always was showing off his basketball skills etc. It clearly wasn't based on his job experience when he "community organized" in Chicago. Look at it now after decades of Obama's efforts and representation! Success!

You mentioned his intelligence, not specifically his ability to be President... The left often attacks the right as being, "simpltons, unintelligent" here in the US...did it to Bush, Reagan, Ford, etc...that won't work with Trump...

Doubly hard because his life is open and very public yet there's no record of the rather miserable character deficits of which Trump is routinely accused.  Never seen anything like it. Ever.  I think they'll start going after his family next.

I agree that many on the left make sweeping comments about those on the right.  Seems to happen the other way around, too.  I am certainly not innocent in that regard, either. So I will state there are many highly intelligent people who ran (ex: Kasich) and should have run (ex: Ryan) for the GOP.

As for Trump, I've seen him speak, read his extensive interviews with WaPo and NYT, read his tweets, and I don't believe he has the brains for the job of president.

As and aside, I have noticed that many Americans equate business prowess with broader intelligence and capabilities, for instance in trusting Exxon executives more than scientists on global warming.  I don't mean that as a criticism, BTW, just an observation.

If they do, can they use the Trump "he started it" excuse, or has he trademarked it?

I'd vote for Don Cherry, if I could. Can you imagine how fun to watch the meetings with Trump would be? Both good nationalists who would stand up to international busy-bodies, illegals, and terrorists and put their country first.

I know everybody is sensitive (and lots of money to be made off the lawsuits, publicity, and politics) but I've gotten worse bruises, and sometimes all the time. Play any sport, work on a car, move stuff around in garage, bang your shin into a coffee table, etc. Those bruises are nothing. And also some people also bruise more easily (especially if they are taking certain medications, drink, age, have health conditions, etc.) In a normal environment it would be a none issue, or one solved with an apology or slap to the cheek to the "assailant," but these days?

ps: to this, I imagine, money-grubber or publicity seeker- don't use the term "bruise" but "hematoma" or, at least, "contusion"- juries and the press like bigger words....sounds oh so more serious.

If Michelle had been my girl, there wouldn't have been enough secret service agents to protect that creep, Lewandoski.Guess what? You don't get to grab a woman by the arm, so hard that it leaves finger print bruises, just because you don't like the question she is asking. That's assault, all day long. Maybe not in Trump's world, but in the real world, it's assault.

Trump could have fixed it when it occurred, but he is incapable of admitting he's anything other than perfect. So, what does he do? He, and his thugs, lie about it and try to smear Michelle Fields. Just a disgusting pig in every way. Thank God almighty, that NY asshole will never be President.

In the "real" world a physical contact is not assault but battery. But, admittedly, there are jurisdictional differences on definitions (and differences in the torts as well as the criminal side.) There also are questions of intent (did he want to bruise the reporter) or even, maybe, professional defenses (like bouncers, cops, etc can have.) It will be interesting to see, legally, how it will play out. In any event she got her "15 minutes" and, likely, will get some $, or at least publicity, out of the affair.
ps: I've seen worse "damages" from a young kids soccer game.

Based on the video, she wasn't grabbed by the forearm. Her upper arm was grabbed. She also states that she was forced to the ground. The video shows that she was not.

Some women just bruise easily due to anemia etc. I wasn't there of course, but based on the video I don't see an act of violence or even battery.

All right F. Lee, I`m not an attorney. But I would note, I just checked again, and Ms. Fields was not donning athletic garb. Additionally, the incident did not occur on a soccer pitch. Michelle Fields is a dainty, little lady in high heels. She was absolutely no threat what-so-ever to Trump. She was cleared by Secret Service to be there, and all she did was ask a question about affirmative action and Lewandoski panicked because he knows Trump is too damn stupid to give a cogent answer.

Any normal healthy man can very easily inflict a considerable amount of pain and bruising to a female`s arm merely by grabbing her and jerking her back, as Lewandoski clearly did. It should also be noted that all Michelle asked for was an apology. That`s it! Instead, the Trump thugs and lawyers initiated the smear campaign. How despicable. Now Trump is mocking her and ridiculing her at his cult gatherings -- otherwise known as campaign rallies.

Frankly, I`m happy people are seeing what a pig Trump really is. It`s going to prevent him from ever being President. A vote for Trump is a vote for whomever the Dem candidate will be.

No offense but I think, unfortunately, the way the situation is Trump might be the only candidate to be able to win because of his braggadocio and the current state of affairs. I still harbor some real questions about him, and motives (still wonder if a Billary stalking-horse even.) But considering the alternatives? Cruz? I'd rather one of my Senators there continue his blocking motions, diatribes/filibusters, and actions there. So who else? That could, maybe, get some voters who don't normally 'show up' or even cross-over votes from other demographics (due to his tv personalities?) My main concern, really, is on a local, state, and Congressional level but because of Court appointments I don't care who gets Prez, except not Billary (or Sanders.)
ps: like the Flea Bailey comment. Haha.

What horseshit. She never once claimed that she was "forced to the ground." If you look at the video it clearly shows the thug lewandoski grabbing Fields and jerking her back. Fields looks off balance as it was a shock to her, I`m sure. Ever accidentally bump into a lady wearing high heels? The video shows Fields stumbling a bit backwards and catching her balance. Thus, in the formal complaint, she said the following: "Trump acknowledged the question, but before he could answer I was jolted backwards. Someone had grabbed me tightly by the arm and yanked me down. I almost fell to the ground, but was able to maintain my balance. Nonetheless, I was shaken."

I just don't believe that being good at running a real estate business means he would make a good president.  That's like saying Michael Jordan would be a good president because he is a good basketball player.

That is a terrible analogy.  You could do so much better than that.  But the premise is ridiculous regardless.  Not to mention a logical fallacy.   Jordan would have to be able to run Trump's companies, and Trump would have to be able to bounce a ball.

The man is very qualified.  There is no training for "president".  Hillary comes closest, but she has a history of continual betrayals to the nation that her experience has only given her the tools to screw the country for her gain further.  Like hiring a murdurer to be police chief because he's good with a gun, of we want to apply bad analogies. ;)

This is kind of a giant waste of time and effort for him in terms of opportunity cost, and a loss or anything but a win would be a massive blow to ego and public perception.  He's the real deal.   The White House and AF1 is a massive step down from mar el lago and his 757.  Besides, his ability, (and that of his family) to have a private life is ruined for several years if he wins or loses.
