I guess I don't watch enough television news, which I am sure has every "horror story" from Italy to NYC on continuous loops, which folks with little ability to think for themselves watch and get all wound up over.

Whatever this thing is, it has had a little over 5 months (IF it started in November-December in China) maximum and a little under 4 months minimum (IF it started in December-Janurary in China).  Hell, NYC has had a month, what are the numbers there?  Let me see...

60k "confirmed cases" and 1.5k deaths attributed to it.  1.5k/60k=2.5% "kill rate."  NYC total population= about 8.5million.  60k "confirmed cases" for 8.5million, 60k/8.5million= 0.705% rate of infection after probably a single month...

These percentages seem rather low at any level I look at it.

Either my math is wrong, or this is just pure idiocy.

I sort of hope that I am wrong though, it would be nice to see more dumb-fucks, fat-people, and other "useless eaters" die off, surely that would be good for the economy in the long run, eh?

I just read that Lethbridge, Alberta has come up with a solution. To be fair- they are a smaller city (100,000 people.) Their population has a fair number of younger students as well as immigrant workers (and a good sized population of people addicted to drugs.)

Anyhow, as of April8th, you will need a reservation to ride the bus. You will have to make your reservation the day before, and they are only allowed if you are going to work, to the grocery store or to the pharmacy. If your bus has more than 15 people on it, you cannot book your trip.

I never thought I would live to see the day that reservations were required for public transit.

All was easy here. They were spraying and wiping down carts. Had various types of hand sanitizer. Most people were wearing masks or such. I had a bandana ala cowboy outlaw. No lines. But out of lots of food items (like canned soup.) Then I went to new Dollar store. They had PLENTY of wipes, bleach, tp, cleaning products, vinyl and nitrile gloves, water jugs, even cheap brand sardines in both hot sauce and just water etc. And no lines. Post Office employees had a new plexiglass shied on top of the counter and you make your transaction. Not quite to the level of buying stuff at a convenience store in an inner-city but almost. Everyone friendly and line wasn't that long.

Everyone was polite and helpful. I forgot my wallet in the truck and the lady printed some kind of receipt so I didn't need to have the items rescanned or wait in line.
3M must be making money hand over fist, with the demand for masks and everyone using blue painters tape to tape off safe distances etc on floors and aisles.

If I were a "good" conspiracy theorist, I would say that this illness is designed to be the front runner. Society shuts down, a few people die, a good depression starts. People question if shutting down society was worth it.

A year later a "better" and more deadly virus is released. Society knows that it can't shut down again. People can't afford to take a day off work and go in when they are not feeling 100%, and bingo. Instant depopulation.

Earlier I was listening to old Hendrie (thanks to you. Praise) and an early version of Chris Norton, I think, had his IROC Camaro stolen from a convenience store and was asking the station to broadcast the theft so he could get it back. And was fighting his insurance company for $40K because "the best car ever made." As plot developed it turns out he had recently moved to the Valley from rural Colorado to "work in movies." The car had "sheep-skiin seat covers- those are after-market, Phil and adds a lot of value" and he left the car running and keys in when he "went to go get cigarettes" because "you don't want to have to restart that bad-ass 4 barrel 305." Of course callers were outraged at the value of the car, that IROC was the "best car," and the idiocy of leaving keys in the car and running: "this is LA man, folks would steal a Pinto, man."
