A.  All that you say is true under normal circumstances and I have no problem with that.  I’ve been to B school and spent 20 years in the private sector post Navy and I really do understand Keynesian economics, you know, the supply and demand curve and all that. 

B.  Trump declared a national emergency on March 17.   Laws against profiteering, hoarding, etc. have been in effect since that date.  Trump has now reluctantly invoked the Defense Production Security Act mainly because of 3-Ms behavior.  He was rightfully reluctant because while it strengthens the federal government’s hand in enforcing necessary measures to secure and manage the supply of essential/strategic commodities during a national emergency it has obvious drawbacks via-a-vis laissez-faire economics.  It should not remain in force a second longer than the emergency demands.

C.  Once again, it stopped being okay for business as usual when the national emergency was declared and it has nothing to do with who the material is being sold to.

So... did they actually break the law? Not just your or that of an overpaid talking heads opinion of said law being broken. Once again, no charges, or proof offered of profiteering, hoarding, etc., just a weak appeal from authority. Okay, thatz not proof, no matter how many times you type it. Who said anything about banning or taxing anything? Slow down just a little. First, people have to understand the problem, before they can even begin to identify solutions. I just read that Lethbridge, Alberta has come up with a solution. To be fair- they are a smaller city (100,000 people.) Their population has a fair number of younger students as well as immigrant workers (and a good sized population of people addicted to drugs.)

Anyhow, as of April8th, you will need a reservation to ride the bus. You will have to make your reservation the day before, and they are only allowed if you are going to work, to the grocery store or to the pharmacy. If your bus has more than 15 people on it, you cannot book your trip.

I never thought I would live to see the day that reservations were required for public transit.

Let me see on the death rate if you are confirmed to be infected, 60k/1.1mil=0.054545454, or roughly 5.5% death rate.  That sounds bad, but I still wonder how many folks are walking around with a light sniffle to no symptoms?  If that number is 10x confirmed cases then the death rate drops to 0.55%, 100x the number 0.055% and so on for the death rate.

Using the 10x, 100x deal on the "actual" infection rate changes the 0.0000013% @ 1mil to:

100mil=0.00013% global infected
