I think evangelical Protestantism falls short. It strikes me as song and dance and whipping up of emotions. Were I a Christian still, I would go deeper and explore the actual protestant reformation, old orthodoxy, old-school Catholicism, the Jews and the roots of Christianity etc. and above all read and think about the NT independently. You'd think people would do that more rather than thump on the bible.

Some of these broads need anointing alright. If they just used the right tongues...

Yes, indeed.  We're on page 1666.  Is it a coincidence?
Isn't  that something

Yeah, me too. I'm agnostic at best, probably a little less. But I do appreciate the history and art.

Yep....

Speaking of that....there is a church in my old neighborhood in Pittsburgh that has the most relics aside from the Vatican.  Went there as a child for midnight mass and such.  It is pretty cool.   Used to play kickball in it's parking lot.  8)

I respect the agnostics.  They haven't ruled anything out but they need a bit more evidence to become a believer.  As a Christian, I have nothing but faith to cling to but I want more. I do see evidence of God all around me though.  The complexity of life and nature.  The beauty of snowflakes. It simply cannot be a random coincidence.  I would like to see a full-blown miracle though.

Well, you will if you can get me laid.  I'm in a sad state.

LOL.  Go on one of those porn sites where an ad pops up that there is somebody a half mile from you that wants to fuck.  Click on the ad and there you go.  Not that I speak from personal experience though.  I have no problem getting laid.

Let's go full mind-blown. The reason I can't rule out a creator is because I cannot prove to you that the universe isn't a computer simulation. In fact, statistically speaking, it almost certainly is. One of three things must be true. 1. All civilizations in the universe must die off before their computers become powerful enough to simulate a universe. 2. All civilizations in the universe choose not to simulate universes. 3. We almost certainly live in a computer simulation. If 3 is true, then there is a god, and he programmed within the simulation all religions, which would be simultaneously all valid because God programmed them to be there.

But I can't prove that I'm not a brain in a jar being fed stimulus, and if so, I can't prove to you that I exist beyond any doubt. All of this to me makes absolute atheism impossible.

That is a mind-fuck. I may not call it a computer simulation but I agree with assessment number 3.   This is not our real life.  We come here for the experiences, to better ourselves. then we go back home.

Such a thing could be programmed into a computer simulation. And, well, the whole thing might even be testable.

Religion never made sense in my mind until i found universal reconciliation. Don't know how makes more sense to me than anything else i have heard so i lean that way. I have looked into credible Near Death Experience stories good and bad and it seems to make the most sense to me. Most Christians hate me for believing in it though and think of universalisim as a get out of hell free card which it's not.

http://tentmaker.org/ saved my sanity when i thought here was no hope.
