I find it strange that they keep the show title "Midnight in the Desert" when Dave isn't even close to being in the desert...

Because from past experiences, just mentioning Trumps name I get hate from people wanting NOTHING to do with politics. On and from BOTH sides, even his name being mentioned makes everyone paranoid I will be for or against. SO, I avoid it as much as I can.

I'd enjoy hearing about politics, if they were obscure & strange politics I'd be unlikely to have heard about elsewhere.  That pretty much rules out most of what people consider curent affairs.  I'd love to hear about weird goings-on in other parts of the world, past or present, that are unlikely to ever get out & therefore would be considered irrelevant by most.

John Bachelor's been pretty good at digging up authors about such topics from the past, but I'm sure he's far from having fished out those waters.  Stuff like the Republic of W. Fla., the Russian-American Telegraph, etc.

I love to hear about turns technology had started to take but were unluckily superseded by better.

Heather needs to wear a scarlet letter Q for her quittening.  Pahrump is NOT her town, she's merely an occupant.  The whole KNYE thing must eat at her for multiple reasons...

It is good to have a terrestrial radio station carrying the show if they get the program aired live.  Maybe KNYE is a leverage piece for additional low power stations to feel empowered.

In this era, the frauds are tough to host for entertainment value unless you already have a wink-wink "believe it or not" persona like Art. I can't see Dave being much interested in Mel's Hole. He's too intellectual. That's the part Noory can still do, but Dave is going to be more "experience"-orientedâ€"hauntings, OBEs, etc. So it will be interesting to see how he handles a guy like this tonight.

I don't doubt Dave's experience at ECETI and the later sighting on the airliner, but at the same time I have seen photos purporting a spaceship entrance on Mt. Adams (photgraphed in other lighting and shown to be a common geologic feature) and UFOs later found to be stars with Stellarium. He mentioned a military base being nearby, but did not mention the military drone manufacturer, Insitu is headquartered only 5 miles from the ranch. So Dave ended up much softer on Gilliand than I thought he would be. Gilliand somehow held his happy hippy persona making it difficult for Dave to get any 60 minutes style questions in without risking looking confrontational.

The real gold for experience stories is not just the ranch, but the Yakima Reservation area east of there. If he could interview an ex-sheriff's deputy from that region that would speak candidly, that would make one of the best radio shows ever. Unfortunately many have tried and failed to get any of them to speak. Mel's Hole? Heck, tell some of the things that went on around AEC/DOE Hanford Plant.

OK, I admit it - I wan't a 60-Minutes style Paranormal and Variety (including science) show that makes the guests sweat a little. The days of semi-cooked or outright cooked entertainment are over for me and in this age they won't fly anymore and if they do they will just continue to muddy the waters of the real stuff that is out there.

Still within the 1-week grace period, before we let it rip!  Look this place is at least theoretically a fan site for Art Bell right, and he was the best, the King, and yet there's never been a shortage of flat-out hostility towards even him.  It's an open forum, with no loyalty pledge required to sign up, so anyone is free to express their love, hate, and everything in between, and they do.

I'm sure Dave will get the whole range at some point, like everyone else has.  I hope if he chooses to have any interaction with this board going forward he sees that big picture, and doesn't only focus on the negative posts like some have in the past.  There is no group-think here.  Each voice stands on its own and should be taken as such.  One thing for sure here is people tend to be brutally honest so if you get positive feedback it should mean something.

Oh I understand my place in the Universe and at one time it was suggested to me to avoid this site like the plague, that was years ago. So I did, but I am a passionate fan of many things and like when I can love something with others or hate something or sometimes both.

I get the point of this place, I get the sarcasm, the passion, the love and hates. It is what it is. I cant promise I will visit often but I will check in on you all and chime in when time permits.  I hear the complaints and the love and it pushes me to try to be better and be worthy of the job I have been given.  So...to the future...lets laugh, cry and flip each other off as life is meant to be.
