SO, on first listen, my husband's already disappointed by the music.  Thinks Dave's turning MITD into Darkness Radio. I would assume he'll morph it as he goes along, because Art's audience wasn't all the same as his own.  I'm willing to see how it goes.

For those of you who don't like the music. Schrader has a friend who made the theme music to Darkness radio. Not sure if he is going to have him make something for MITD or not. I hope so because I can do without the loud guitar riffs. I am not too concerned about that though because I know they had very little time to produce the show only a few days.

I liked the show. It had a similar feel to Darkness radio when it was on the radio live. Except it didn't have the stupid humor which is an improvement. I liked the show, I think MITD will grow. I believe Tim will also assist in helping it grow and will try to get radio affiliates.

Maybe they were desperate for her to return to an actual show, instead of whatever hack bullshit Joe was putting on. No offense to him, but I tried listening to his station yesterday, and couldn't. It was so horrible. WTF.

So now the question is, why did Dave take the gig?

His show on Podcast One was cut from 5, 3 hr shows to 3 1.5 hr shows per week. It is one of their most popular podcast too.

He also picks up a group of subscribed users and has the potential to grow the show. Schrader has his own following who will also subscribe so there is money to be made. I think the show will also expand and get some affiliates, if I were C2C I would be worried. Schrader is a MUCH MUCH better hose than Noory, it isn't even close.

Dave has a great sense of humor. Love the attention he’s giving to bellgab. I wouldn’t be surprised if he called in to a gabcast at some point.

He doesn't take him self seriously. Which at times is my chief complaint. I have been listening to Schrader for years on his previous show Darkness Radio and then Beyond the Darkness.

The sense of Humor can be a real issues at times. On Darkness Radio they used to do act like a jack ass Fridays. He would do his humor shtick and it would make the show untenable.  Hopefully he keeps this to a minimum.

It's so nice to wake up in the morning, make my coffee and catch up on the show here in the thread again.  It's feeling like the good ol days already

Really loving it. Can't say enough good things about it. He kicked someone off due to being a fraud, funny, doesn't take himself serious at all which I love. None of this is serious. It's what makes MV so good. It's fun. The bellgab shout outs. Both Dave and his lovely, young wife followed me back on twitter. He said he plans on doing some true crime and keeping Darkness going on the weekends. Oh and no fake ass, kermit the frog meets Barry White doing and Art Bell impression voice.
Compared to the shitshow that was Heater Wade it's miles above. Oh and he was classy. I personally like no major artist as bumper music. He specifically said he's trying not to be Art. I did notice he sped up his voice the last hour but I am sure that is nerves and excitement. Bravo Dave, Michelle, and Keith.
Oh and whoever said she didn't want guest hosts (I think it was Sean but I could be wrong) because they would make her look awful, you were right.
