Yes!  So glad they dropped the closing theme.  Thank you!  We're starting over, peeps .. a new beginning.   8)

Well said. I concur.

I tend to get easily distracted by shiny objects and having multiple monitors, but my attention was held tonight by Dave Schrader.
I think it was a very solid first show considering the drama he waded into.
I'm looking forward to when he can take calls so we can get to know the audience  ;)
His wife is real cute too :P sweet sweet Lord!
Great night.

This is the first time I've listened to DS...I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the style and content. I'm looking forward to much more. Also, fun having a good vibe around a weeknight show again.

Chad Jacobs

Good show. If Art Bell was the Michael Jordan of radio talent then Dave Schrader is at least Scottie Pippen level. I always enjoyed Dave and Tim (and Malley when she was there) on Darkness Radio far more than Beyond The Darkness, because they excelled at integrating live calls into their program in a compelling manner.  Other than George Knapp or perhaps Clyde Lewis there really isn't anyone who could potentially do a better job. I'm not a huge fan of the music, it reminds me of something like what the guys at Mysterious Universe use, but less compelling.  There really is something magical about integrating the Art Bell music style into the program it's not make or break by any means, just missed. I had written Heather and suggested that she do some "road shows" from interesting locations such as Mount Adams, Dulce NM, Pyradmid Lakes Nevada, Dugway Proving Grounds ect. these could make for entertaining "road shows" if the technical challenges could be overcome. If Schrader "maximizes" this opportunity (better music, maybe four hours program) he can eventually grow to rival and even exceed C2C, and Ground Zero.

Please take unscreened calls when you start taking calls & slow down just a bit and I'm sure you were just excited tonight. Was a great show.

Rix Gins

Very nice show, especially the first and third hour.  I fell asleep during the second hour, but it wasn't Dave's fault.

HumanBeing

A review of tonight's show from Heather's most loyal and biggest fans. Such sycophants they would smile and eat excrement if Heather told them to do so  :D
(I'm just being silly, I'm sure they are fine folks)

I'm psyched to see how this plays out and where he takes the show. He is polished. The one thing I hope is that he will bring some of his humor along as well.
I think he is a pretty funny guy. Although he may need his Darkness Radio co-host Tim Dennis in order to fully pull that off.

When a bar announces last call for the night and people look around to see what is available. I've never taken any of those chicks home.
;D

Go ugly early.

Paul Craddock talks about himself in third person. Heather has some very stable fans.

I agree on this exactly, and will add please get better bumper music.

Can he even turn his neck that far these days?

No, he has to make a full body turn and the ripple effect in the air tears a hole in the building wall each time. Girl Falkie will catch him before that happens.

It's his wife posting under his name.

Yes. That was the joke.

Hell, they just caught the Golden State Killer...and that was from the work of Patton Oswalds deceased wife...just crazier than fiction.

Dave Schrader conducted a fascinating, chilling, and in retrospect, downright prescient interview with “TrueCrimeGuy” investigator/podcaster Mike Morford, about the hunt for “The Golden State Killer”, just weeks before the arrest of suspect Joseph DeAngelo.   Spine-chilling  and spellbinding.   The interview was replayed on Dave’s other show, Beyond the Darkness, just 7 days ago.

I will listen to the full show tomorrow, but overall I'm very satisfied with Midnight in the Desert with Hank Schrader.

Heather's fans comments are a world among itself  :o

I'm starting to feel kind of empathetic towards Paul & Ella. It seems like every day they leave Heather a Facebook comment that would be, seemingly, more appropriate to be within a private message. I don't want to make light of them if they are indeed mentally deficient in any way  :-X

Someone should mention to them that they could download Heather's shows because it sounds like they are hanging on to their membership just because they have access to her past shows.

Thanks I'll download and check it out. It is a fascinating case.
I watched an episode of 48 Hours that covered it quite well too. If interested you can view it here for free.

I understand your compulsion to feel sympathy, but fuck Paul and Ella Craddock. All of the people on her Facebook act like Heather is their surrogate daughter. It's bizarre and unhealthy. They need to adopt a few more cats. It makes me wonder if we were even listening to the same programs.

He kind of reminds me of 'Walter Skinner' of X-Files.

Nonononono.

Separate thread.  This is NOT the same show as Heather Wade.  This is an archive.

Dave & Winnie = NEW.

We'd need separate "Midnight in the Desert with Dave Schrader" and "Heather Wade's Midnight in the Desert" threads.

Is he on aderol? Guess I just miss Art’s smooth comforting tone. And the music’s a bit hyper too.
Shift down a bit, hate getting hyped up in the middle of the night. Hey tho, everyone deserves a chance. He might chill.

She may be attractive, but she’s still a Vikings fan.

I see you, Winnie. My inner Sconnie balks instinctively, but since I now live in Los Angeles and don't give a shit about football, I'll let it slide. Tell the hubby he did good tonight.

Dr Who

So it was Dave Schrader ,?I missed it ,usually it plays at 6 am- 9 am over here and I was fast asleep.
Did they call it midnight in the desert without Heather Wade, ?or has the show a new name?

Dave is great....but most of us will be checking out heather...When she come back...In a we can't look away from the train wreck sort of thing

Worth repeating...  Trainwrecks a' comin'

Seriously tried to listen to HLW but she didn't connect.  Dave's a lot easier on the processing of what is said, he's got that whole speaking English thing down pat.

Winnie spent no time on the air and has already made a bigger, stronger connection with the audience than HLW did in all of her 2+ years keeping the chair warm.  Too bad she's a Vikings fan.  Is she a Prince fan?  I have family in Lakeshore, does she know them???

If Heather had a guest host, she knew she'd be finished.  Wally Pipp ca. 2018.  I only wish Keith would have made the move sooner.
