I work in IT so we talk about this crap all day.   ;D

Most people in IT don't care about MS, Apple, etc. other than to learn what they need to know to make a living.

If I really had to put my chips down, the bottom line is, Linux is the best.

how often do you say...did you try turning it on and off?

Aliens and volcanoes. L. Ron called, he wants his bs back.

It really does smack of scientology.

You know the guy is BSing when he literally knows everything about these said aliens and their plans. How did he learn any of this anyway? He went from seeing a UFO to talking about the galactic empire sayrays or whatever.

I don't trust 'em, as far as the privacy thing goes (even with switching off capabilities). But mainly, I'm thinking I'll probably not be able to run half or more of my favorite old apps. This is the same reason I haven't officially switched over to Ubuntu yet.
Check out Xubuntu & Play On Linux

I can almost guarantee you'll be able to run all of those apps perfectly.  They've worked a lot on the compatibility feature.

We're testing apps at work.  We've got 4,000 clients on our domain.  Some of the customized apps got back to the early 90s and they work like a charm.   :)

If this is the case, I shall stay open minded on it. If I do decide to switch over, it'll probably be a day after the free upgrade period ends, with my luck. And my Spanish dictionary better work.

Truth be told, as soon as anyone mentions alien contact, you know they're BSing...or nuts.

Windows 10 is a pile of poop but it's basically welcoming the NSA and all other three letter agencies into your life as well as all sorts of black hatters.

I'm not an expert, but Mikko Hypponen of F-Secure said on Twit recently that W10 is way better security wise than 8 or 7.

There are privacy issues with the metrics that Windows gathers from your OS, but in my opinion that's peanuts compared to what people upload to MS, Google and Facebook voluntarily through their accounts.

QuoteThere's a protection around this show.

But not in Phoenix, apparently. ::)

Well he could at least be good with the BS.

This guy seems pretty wormy for being responsible for literally trillions of aliens lives and countless galaxies.

Who was his superior? How did any of that happen? How did some pussy lightweight who can't even handle a beer become the most powerful human in the universe?

For fuck sake, this guy is going to make my head explode trying to logically figure out his story.

There is more to it than just turning everything off in the GUI , all you have to do is check the packets and MS is still spying.
You have to edit the registry as well, some good instructions on the net.
Unfortunately every FORCED update will bring those reg values back.
Its true anytime you are on the net you are the product, but i assure you Linux or BSD is MUCH safer.

Seconded !
Although no system hooked to the net is 'Safe', for the average non-tech user, Linux or BSD is much safer.

Spinner

Don't know if someone has pointed this out but, "Seres" means "beings" in Spanish.

On Win 10 btw. I've been running it since it dropped with only a few hiccups. I basically HAD to get it because of DX12. The last time I heard, DX12 ain't coming to 7. So if you're a gamer and you want next-gen games, suck it up and push that upgrade button. Has Art jumped ship to Apple? Is he going senile? HAS THE WHOLE WORLD GONE MAD?!

DX12 games wont be out till next year, no devs are porting existing DX11 games to DX12, its WAY to costly, The new Cry engine and the new Unreal Engine support DX12.
People think some magic would happen to old games when DX12 came out, WRONG, Games take a long time to develop, and the engine has to support it.

I can't decide if no one is calling Art or if this guest won't stop talking long enough for a call.

I need to find an expert so I can buy a MIG off the dark webz without the ATF knocking on my door.

Trish thanks for taking the chewing tobacco out before you went on the air

And they even took the good Mahjong games and MX Solitaire off it.  Thieving bastards.  Win 11 will require a payment for recharging the f'ing battery.
I love Mahjong. That's the final straw !   ;)
