Yep...someone here set up a 'Home Alone' style board with nails in it trap.  Even though the intruder eventually faced charges, so did they.

Might have to be creative. Forget the claymore mines. Entry triggers blinding lights, deafening sirens and big weird video cameras in-the-face. A couple sulfuric acid spray mists (easily removable after the fact of course) at the widow openings are optional, of course.
