OK, I just realized that there are at least 2 kinds of listeners, NEW and OLD.

I am a long term listener, which I refer to as OLD.  I am jaded and have heard it all before probably hundreds of times. My experiences have made me more skeptical of the CLAIMS made by guests.

Then there is the new listener. For such a listener, all of this is pretty fascinating new information. They love it! I understand that. I was there in the 90's.

So should OLD listeners like me be quiet and not interrupt the "naive" joy and fun of listening to these interviews?

Hey, I don't want to sound weird but....oh what the hell.  I have had a bunch of OBE's.  Can pretty much do it at will, if in the right frame of mind.  Best one was in a psychic workshop and had about a dozen people confirm what I was seeing.  Going ahead and putting (not) all the cards on the table, also have had a lot of ghost experiences (I grew up with a ghost), clairvoyant dreams,past life memories including dying etc.  I know sounds like BS but all true, promise.  TMI?

Once I had the girlfriend who just discovered something...  It was old for me but took a lot of joy in her discovery.

I agree with you.  The bad news is listeners are having problems hearing the show and too many of the guests are terrible, sadly not too different than 2 years ago.

Many, perhaps the majority, of longtime Bellgabbers have been listening to Art since his earliest days.  Plus, hundreds, maybe thousands, of replays over a few decades.  Some of us have joy and fun listening to Art.  If you don't, that's fine.  Doesn't make you "naive" either.

That's so true. And there are also different definitions of what a "good" Art Bell show is. The more outlandish the caller or guest is, the more popular the show is, so a lot of people consider the show pure entertainment value. I actually call the "good" shows the ones more about the unknown and science and the attempt to further knowledge and learning.
