Accidentally went to OSOM website and saw what's up for tonight.  What I find kinda funny in my sleep-deprived state is that the image he has IS ONE THAT I MADE.  See this page and scroll down to "≈1/3 Sphere, Pluto Encounter Hemisphere."  Surprisingly (and cool-ly), it's become one of the iconic images.

There was no airbrushing.  See, people in the modern era don't use airbrushing.  We use this thing called a "computer," complete with USB ports, so things are done digitally.

I only know what an airbrush is because I used to visit my Aunt at work in the 90s and she's a graphic designer.
