This Metropolis movie is odd. Hard to believe it was made in the 20's
Correct - odd, but actually a really good flick once you get past the hoaky posturing. ;)

You guys ever seen Metropolis ?

Edit: this is a full length movie.

Great film.  Fritz Lang was a hell of a filmmaker.  Here's a clip from one of his last.

The clip seems edited by a youtube hack but not by Lang. Yes the snake is silly but the rest is  :)

Also check out M with Peter Lorre.  Lang made many great films especially early on.

Wow, it is nice to find another film buff.  That is a pretty obscure film.  M is one of my favorites too.

BTW 21st, Debra is one of the most beautiful actresses to ever grace the screen. That girl had Class. She carried herself well. Not many can aspire to that level of grace.
You know how Barfly is w/ chicks named Lisa ? ...                ;)

LOL.  I just watched her in that old AIP horror flick with Vincent Price.  Tales of Terror.  I have never seen a more beautiful face.  I actually think she got even more beautiful when she added on a few years and some of the baby fat went away. She retired from films shortly after Tales of Terror.  I guess she figured she wasn't going to get any real acting challenges so she married a rich Chinese oil executive. A nephew of Madame Chiang Kai-Shek.  Lucky guy.

That I didn't know.  Yes, damn lucky. *jealous*   - -   Vincent was pretty good too. When I was a kid, I thought he was hoaky / funny; never scary. When I got older, I was able to appreciate his style. (Damn, he was in a lot of movies when I was growing up(20 year lag-time on the re-runs).)

I dig the old flicks. Some of them are funny as hell. Others (most) actually have dialog where you have to think to 'get it' - and they move quickly. maybe that's why I get a kick out of the peeps here that talk about radio hosts that talk too fast. Poor peeps can't keep up. lol. Suits my nature though [code jock]. :D

I know for a fact peeps here recognize this image... ICONIC

Watch The Witchfinder General with Price made by Michael Reeves.  Vincent underacts in that film and is truly evil as Matthew Hopkins, a real-life English Witchhunter.  I think it is probably his best villainous performance maybe his best performance period.

The segment with Paget in Tales Of Terror really gets under my skin.  Paget is the wife of kindly old Valdemar, Price, who is dying from something like brain cancer. He has promised  a hypnotist played by Basil Rathbone that if he reduces Price's pain while he is still alive, he can hypnotize Valdemar at the point of death.  Rathbone does so and Price is trapped in a hellish limbo for weeks, moaning for all to hear.  Rathbone lusts after Paget and refuses to let Price pass on until she agrees to become his wife after he is truly dead.  It really is chilling and the best story in the movie.

What movie is that pic from, Sandman?  She looks like a very bad girl in that.  I like!

I know I have heard her on a radio show or podcast in the last year, because I went and looked at that snake dance seen while she was on. Does anyone know which show she was on?
