"more disclosure crap..with a to be 3rd time guest, I wonder what the Libertarian Buchman, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) guest's views are on the New Hampshire vote? I hope they talk all night about it!!"

Chances are high that I will try to further explicate my hypothesis that the Cosmos is teeming with Libertarians (all advanced life, given enough time, will either adopt the NAP as a core paradigm for its politics, or self-destruct before getting here -- this is, BTW, the exact opposite of what we will see in the INDEPENDENCE DAY sequel coming this June).

I'm also likely to retell my Buzz Aldrin story (that ran in every theater at the Sundance Film Festival two weeks ago on Volunteer Appreciation Day).

See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84KAdka1lOo

Beyond that, since my last appearance, I've been to the Consumer Electronics show (and may share a bit about the almost-sci-fi technologies there) and about OPERATION AVALANCHE and a few of the other 25 films I saw during the 2 weeks of the Sundance Film Festival this year (including BIRTH OF A NATION), the Samsung VR/New Frontiers labs. etc.

In April I'll be MCing the UFO day at the Sonoma International Film Festival where, among other things we're showing BOTH FIRE IN THE SKY and the new TRAVIS documentary (and I'll be interviewing Travis Walton about his experience).

See: http://www.sonomafilmfest.org/about-the-film-festival.html

And, yes, a bit of politics.  One major 3-rd party/largely Libertarian website just . . . endorsed Senator Sanders for POTUS.  My interview with the owner of IPR just went live at:

http://www.independentpoliticalreport.com/2016/02/ipr-owner-endorses-sen-sanders-for-potus/

And I'm open to suggestions/comments/insults whatever.  It's radio (or something close).

The host drives the direction of the show, and mostly I'll respond to Richard's lead/desires/direction.

Unless there are technical issues at the last second (which has happened the last two times he has tried to have me on).

Thanks for stopping by!  I will save my four fingers of rye for your show.  Sounds pretty good.

it isnt you we are irked with as much as Hoagie and his steering of the show lately...we've been saturated with both disclosure and politics as of late lol

A couple of nights ago, Hoagie had historian James Burke on as a guest. Burke said that in the future we would have machines that would address and create many of the products we need, and humans would live further apart from each other in more rural settings. I think this is interesting that technology will enable us to have a libertarian life style.
It's also a common theme in scifi-living on another planet as an idea of a libertarian government.

Yep, this group will bitch about the direction of the sun rising if it can be juxtaposed to make fun of the Hoag's technological prowess. The guests really don't have much power over that. Still, makes for a fun show sometimes.

Fun to be here.  Happy to answer any questions allyoualls have that you post here.  I'll try to monitor this forum during the show.

Was on C2CAM twice, once with Rollye James (who I've known since 1975 when we each worked at WXVW in Jeffersonville, IN) and once with George (just after the 2008 election) when I ran for the US Congress as a Libertarian.

I'm a fairly hard-core Art Bell fan, but before that there was Herb Jepko and the Nitecaps. . . .

heres some questions
how close are we really to disclosure     will it be a benefit if it does happen ?
when did you first know you wanted to be a communicator and or a writer    ?

He meanders a lot into metaphysics. Don't let him lead you like that.  I don't mean to tell you how to do your own interview, but it seems like the worst shows are the ones where he shoehorns his 19.5 torsion shit into your thought and it just all flushes from there.

Though there was the one show where they were talking about the Middle East or some such and the conversation got so ridiculous the guest just started hitting the bong. Over, and over, and over again. That was some the weirdest radio I'd heard in a long time.

drbuchman

"how close are we really to disclosure"

Steve Bassett is far more optimistic than I am.  I called him the "most optimistic person" I know in that Washington Post feature on Steve.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/ufo-truthers-want-to-make-roswell-an-issue-for-2016-meet-their-lobbyist/2015/12/11/391c9542-9ab0-11e5-8917-653b65c809eb_story.html

IMO it's obvious that we are not alone and someone(s) is/are visiting.  Not sure what more than that will/can be disclosed by any humans.  Obviously THEY could disclose ANY time and for whatever reason (our own well being I hope) they have chosen not to do so.

"will it be a benefit if it does happen?"

I have hopes for world peace/humanity uniting once it knows we are not alone/THEY are here and watching. But it is a hope, not a firm believe and certainly not an entirely logical conclusion.

Maybe THEY will have technology of benefit to us?

"when did you first know you wanted to be a communicator and or a writer    ?"

By 5th grade I knew I wanted to be on the radio.  I did a CHICKEN MAN routine with a classmate and had everyone in stitches.

I'm looking forward to it! Sorry for banging on about the politics thing, but it seems Hoaxy is determined to let us all know what he is thinking. :) Don't let him talk over you if you can avoid it.  8)

Hoagand doesn't even know how to turn a computer on let alone run a show. USB. Also, if the show does work, good luck getting a word in edge-wise. Hoagland loves to hear himself talk.

K_Dubb

I hope the poor fellow hasn't mistaken us for fans in the usual sense of the word, or he's surely scratching his head right now.

Isn't it ridiculously weird how Hoagland actually could do really good interviews when he was reigned in by a decent producer, but now can't host a decent interview? Someone mentioned that Hoagland needs to realize that he's the host, not the guest, and I think that's spot on.

That was me - Dick seems to think that the only reason he has guests is to give himself a sounding board to yammer incessantly...it's reached GNS proportions for me so I had to cancel my subscription and stop listening.  When it gets to the point that someone's interviewing style actually infuriates me, I'm done.

He did the same thing with James Burke. He really blew the interview opportunity. The next night he did better with the interview, but Randall Carson was just on MITD so I hard a hard time listening.

Most of the time, as soon as the guest starts answering a question RCH has to interrupt to ask another question, or to explain something to his audience about a word the guest just used.

It would be funny if it wasn't two straight hours.

Burke was the interview that took me over the edge:  he sounded like he was on meth the whole time, and he avoided any mention of his "hyperdimensional physics" horseshit because he knew that any legitimate scientist would tear it to shreds.  He knows he's full of shit; he's a fraud.  Fuck him.

I'd say we're not exactly fans but rather observers and analysts of the full Hoagie spectrum.  Basically nets out to a nifty mix of enthusiasm and disdain.
