That bumper was some misbegotten child of Steely Dan and Chuck Mangione, at least to my ear.
His listener donated music again.

Still half an hour to go but I give Hoagie a Dick Cavett kudo, for this show anyway.

He hasn't been Dick Cavett instead of Dick like this for months

Yeah...you're probably right. I know, it's a different world.

Yech. You are the most insufferable douche I've ever seen online. How do you have enough time to post as often as you do? Go find a life.

If this is really a gold-standard performance for him--wouldn't know, this is the tenth/fewer time I've listened to OSOM--I'm shocked he's going to risk taking calls.  The few times I've heard him before, it has... not gone well, to say the least.

This Coast appearance seems to be a real high-water mark for him, given the number of times he's mentioned it.

The Lunar materials idea is valid, first popularized by Dr. Gerard O'Neill. Build things with space based materials and not have to expensively hauled up from Earth.

I kinda picked up on that too. Big man at the network must have paid himself a Christmas bonus.

Or there's a cunning plan.  Hmmmm... ;)

Nuclear rockets would allow much faster trips, but it's hard to politically get such a program done. Rescue is out of the question.
I agree that the Mars 1 group is highly unlikely to go anywhere.

They were obsessing about you when I first joined a couple months ago. They love you long time!  :-*

One 'oops' and public outcry shuts it down, forever.
