I remember when I was in elementary school they announced we wouldn't have to learn the metric system anymore.  We didn't care. We just wanted to play kickball during recess.  I do wish we would've learned it though.  I think that was the time when the new world order made their move.

It is when you foist it on the majority that doesn't really care and just wants to understand what's going on. To the science-minded, it makes perfect sense. To the normal guy getting dictated to by government edicts, it's just an impractical needless pain in the ass that puts a stumbling block in front of the economy.
