Pizza the Hut is a parody of Jabba the Hutt. It's a fun little movie, if you're a fan of Star Wars you should definitely see it sometime.

I should've seen Space Balls.  Never did though.  I remember when it came out.  Perhaps I wait for the sequel and watch both.

Welllllll the movie is like 30 years old and most of the cast is dead. I don't think there is going to be a sequel lol. I'd rather a Goonies 2 which they always tease us with every year.

LOL!  I liked Goonies.  However, I was the black sheep when it came to Spaceballs.  Never cared to see it, and even after I heard the "hype" from friends, and, later , other sources, I can't help but feel that it sucked.  ;D   Maybe I should watch it?...at least since I like Mel Brooks.  Nahhh...I'll just keep believing Spaceballs is a shit movie.  I mean...all it took for me as a 16 year old was to see Rick Moranis in a big ass helmet and John Candy as a dog type thing.  ::)  Not. funny. at. all.

Morning Brig. Good to see you!

I see you were here listening to Hoagie live BellBoy, sorry I missed that!  I might take a nap during MidnightInTheDesert tonight, and set my alarm to wake up for Hoagie .

I have the advantage of being several time zones ahead, Brig. Hoagie's nonsense goes down very nicely, with my fourth or fifth cup of java, in the morning.  ;)

(I like the thread more than the nonsense, tbph)

I like the threads best for BOTH shows, but listening to Hoagie goes better with my morning cup of coffee at this point  ;D

Unfortunately, I've been finding lately that, no matter which cup of the day I listen to the 'other one' with, it leaves a bitter taste grating drone in my mouth ears.  ;)

Yeah, The Other show is too......I dunno, I guess I'd describe it as "Valley Girl" for my taste.  Nothing wrong with that. I understand many enjoy that atmosphere, I enjoy the more soothing"relax and have some coffee" kind of atmosphere.

Exactly. Some people actually like cronuts... some prefer a nice danish pastry.  ;)

Ah you're right, early Thursday morning.  Still hope for a poem, or how the Baby Jesus was a torsion-field master, or at least his planetarium Star-Of-Bethlehem spiel.

Ciardelo

I'm about through last night's show, my two take-aways:

Hoaxy doesn't pick up what Spence is laying down with all the "conspiracies are better than randomness" talk...I personally hope he never does for our listening pleasure. Hoaxy's ideas of three letter agencies prank call-waiting his guests are too good to give up. :)

Why does Hoaxland call it when networks are playing Holiday repeats or whatever "Going Dark." Shit man, if the networks truly are "Going Dark" it would mean there are no shows playing. Just because Hoaxy is having a day off does not mean all the lights are out. Somebody still needs to be hitting the replay buttons. He's the same kind of guy who thinks nobody works on Holidays. No police, no fire, no hospitals, no restaurants, gas stations etc. sheese.  >:(

There, I feel better. Thanks for letting me share.  ;D

Haha you're right; I don't think Hoagie's considered randomness as an explanation for anything for a very long time.

Ha. I'm glad to see Hoaxy is doing a holiday show too. I don't remember Star Trek or Clarke doing much holiday stuff. Did Cronkite ever have a holiday show? God Bless him, I hope his show lasts forever. :)

There were too many different religions in the Federation. There would've been an outcry of preferential treatment if they tried. Kinda like today.  ;)

Uncle Hoaxy is going to read us this.  ;)

Twas The Night Before Christmas, NASA-style

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the stars
Not a creature was stirring, not even on Mars.
The space boots were hung by the airlock with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.
The robots were nestled all snug on their tires,
As visions of upgrades danced through their wires;
Mom put on her headset while I counted prime numbers,
We had settled our brains for a long winter's slumber,
When out on the dome there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my sack to see what was the matter.
Away to the porthole I flew like a flash,
And tore open the air filter with a great clash.
The moons on the crest of a new volcano,
Gave an alien luster to objects below.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a small UFO, and eight rocket reindeer,
With a little old driver so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than light, his rockets they came,
And he whistled, and shouted and called them by name:
"Now Saturn! now, Sputnik! now, Titan and Atlas!
On, Redstone! on, Delta! Apollo, Polaris!
To the top of the dome! to the top of the wall!
Now blast away! blast away! blast away all!"
As meteors blaze through the heavens up high,
When they meet with the atmosphere and burn in the sky,
So up to the dome-top the rockets they flew,
With a ship full of toys, and St. Nicholas, too.
And then in a twinkling, I felt on the ceiling
The heat of the thrusters and landing tiles peeling.
As I covered my head, and was turning around,
Through the airlock old Santa Claus came with a bound.
He was dressed all in plastics, from his feet to his head,
And his clothes were all covered in dust that was red;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a scientist opening his pack.
His visor- how it twinkled! his filter how scary!
His gloves were from Earth, the logos quite merry!
His space boots, how costly! they played songs and glowed!
The frost on his suit was as cold as Pluto;
The stump of his air tube held tight in his teeth,
And oxygen swirled round his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly
That shook, when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
and I laughed when I saw him in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a nod of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the space boots; then turned with a jerk,
And spreading his fingers just like Dr. Spock,
He quietly exited out the airlock.
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like a high flying missile.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night."
