Hoagie forgot to be a host. The thing that amazed me during his first couple weeks was he was uncomfortable, nervous and flying by the seat of his pants, and thus it was a fantastic show. At times I felt he had more energy and rhythm to his show than Art's at the time. Now that he has settled down, he has made the show about himself and his opinions. That works for Rush, but it doesn't work for paranormal.
Hoagie, if you are reading this, just relax and be a host. There is no gain to be made stating your opinion with a gavel all the time.

You need to check out the 4chan and the Twitterverse to get a more complete picture of how far-reaching Hoaxland's little rant against his audience took him. But that takes work. Much easier just to blame "you guys." :::snort::: As if we are the whole of his listenership.

I think what most of the "blame BellGab" crowd fails to realize is that we are fans. We're long-time fans of the strange and weird. We like this type of show. Despite outward appearances, we are a mostly sane, stable crowd. "We" were rooting for Hoaxland to succeed. If you can't see how Hoaxland has taken a huge dump on his fans, then you aren't being very objective and haven't been listening to the show or reading the comments. The data is in there..

Things are starting to calm down, but a spark can still set off a conflagration.

Last night was a great example of wasted potential with a great guest.  Wanted to hear more of how ancient mythologies functioned like our superhero cults, but instead half of it (at least what I heard in and out of sleep) was Hoagie trying to push the guest into agreeing with his theories instead of just sitting back and doing the kind of interview we all know he can do.

I think those old gods had more in common with superheroes than they do with our modern monotheistic deities.  I'm not at all sure those ancient greeks believed in the myths as literal truths like we do ours.  I think they understood allegory and figurative rhetoric a lot better than we do.

Clearly. MV was running a test show directly opposite of Hoaxland last night. But at least he admits he doesn't listen to the shows. I like him but blanket statements pronounced without even reading the chats or listening to the show are bound to be specious. Praise MV!
