I'm here testing out two different ways to record streams. So I guess I'm taking an extra helping to uselessly eat this Thanksgiving.
Not sure why you need more than VLC, its voice, 16k is plenty.
Do you want to "master" a Hoagie or Art show? i dont get it, its voice, who cares.

Someone got a Boag To The Otherside of Mix-up live-feed link?

I'm thinking I'll just ride on Keith Rowland's stream... just easy and useless on my part.

Pi/x...

Nefermynd, that's all sciendildick.

ediot: DISREGARD

Looks nice norland, I'll bookmark it and read more later. It's getting late for me, that's why I need to schedule recordings :)

Hey norland? Can I launch AIMP from the command line and have it turn off automatically either from the command line or using the Windows Task scheduler?

its built in buddy, it can also shut your laptop down or just shut its self off

So...for the 8 Members and 24 Guests looking in, if you want to launch VLC from the Windows 8.1 Task Scheduler using a small .bat file I have whipped this up. It will run for two hours - 7200 seconds and shut off. It will name the file with the show title, date, and VLC will automagically transcode the stream to a .mp3 file. Sample .bat:

"C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" http://live.darkmatterdigitalnetwork.com/darkmatter.aac :sout=#transcode{acodec=mp3,ab=128,channels=2,samplerate=44100}:duplicate{dst=std{access=file,mux=raw,dst=C:\Users\UserName\Music\%DATE:~10,4%%DATE:~4,2%%DATE:~7,2%_Hoaxland.mp3},dst=display} --run-time=7200 vlc://quit

Using streamWriter ( https://streamwriter.org/en/ ) It appears that it has grabbed the title of the show from the stream and it's recording nicely. It has a built-in scheduler that I have set up for a few different streams from different places the next few days.  We'll see.

Failing that, the most excellent norland2424 has provided me with a link to AIMP player which looks to be a promising candidate. http://download.chip.eu/en/how_to/Record-Internet-Radio-Using-AIMP_91403580.html

Not listening either, DCiardielo?
To what? The replay? kinda-sorta. I'm looking for a recorder that will record silently.

streamWriter did its thing. I ended up though with two separate files:

Other Side Of Midnight - 11-21-2015  David Mantik   Robert Morningstar.aac which is 9:16 in length, and Other Side Of Midnight - 11-21-2015  Jfk Special Replay.aac which is 109:08 in length.

mmmm.

That's an undesirable result. I imagine it is because streamWriter is designed to grab songs from internet streams and it uses the song or rather in this case title information in the stream. Hoaxland's show must have had two different titles for the stream. Most likely it was caused by Dick giving us the "live" intro to the repeat--which I did appreciate and it was done nicely--good job Dick! MUCH better than that earlier one ;)

But it additionally saved the whole raw 2hr .aac file which I suppose I can use and re-title. I'm still a member of the BellGab-named 19.5 club but it is nice to get an unedited copy of the show.

Well, it's late. Goodnight lurkers and BellGab. You too Scott.
