not that I've seen but he will only eat things that he grows or local fish. He hasn't been in a grocery store in years. He is very skinny

I'm stunned at how bad it was.

So bad that a betting pool as to when Hoagland will be getting the boot from KCAA could well be in order.

A guest tries to stay awake from 3-5 a.m. to give Hoagland an interview on woo-related subjects and is, instead, press-ganged into serving as an unwilling political analyst.  I mean, it is not as though Hoagland has a huge pool of guests to draw from in the first place and tonight did not help his reputation any as an awkward, nearly impossible to deal with host.

Unless Fred heard what went down and plans on giving Hoagland a serious talking-to, Hoagland is going to ruin his own programme.  This sort of thing cannot last.

akwilly

Nobody I agree. Fred should sit Hoagy down and say "Hoagy, when you come on the air just get to the fuckin model"!

I haven't listened to it but I heard Hoagie was a total ass on Howards show awhile back.

Yes, an arrogant ass. It was a year ago.

(Reality)

I seriously question sophistication level and intelligence of those people who spend.waste.hours of time every night listening to a show.to a guest. that they don't like.that they hate.shows from witch they don't learn anything of significant value.
Internet has so much to offer to learn really intelligent stuff.but some of you have no imagination and intelligence
to realize that I guess.

Night after night you are repeating your selves with the same.or with very similar cookie cut out format phrases
and comments. how Hoagie sucks.etc.etc.etc

Only people with no imagination will do that night after night after night.
Like a dumb deer looking stupefied at car lights.same with you.
you have very weak personalities if you are willing to waste your life every night repeating the same boring
behaviour.

But yet you are thinking that you are creative and entertaining.
No. you are pathetically unsophisticated bunch of simpletons.  LOL

Just now tuning in to hear Hoagies take on Brexit, etc.

Well, best of luck trying to decipher last night's mess.  ;)

A colossal fail on several levels, one of Hoagie's worst nites, and that's pretty impressive.  He took what could have been a mountain of intriguing ideas and blasted it into a crater of suckage.  First he shows he's done no prep on the guest whatsoever and in fact is not even interested in the guest except as a target for his pet political notions.

So he continues to badger poor Daniel about global warming and the dark zeitgeist of Trumpism and friggin Brexit Brexit Brexit even against his polite protests that this is not the interview he signed up for.  (Next time Hoagie should just grab a random hobo off the street to rant at.)

Then, in a further insult, he puts the guy on hold, a kind of awkward quasi-conference call with HH, while he blusters about, you guessed it, Brexit!  Finally at the end, he brings back the berated, ignored, confused guest and says "I know you don't want to talk about politics, but ..."

He finally does bring up something on Daniel's listed topics, about a discussion he had with Russell Brand, but then Hoagie demonstrating his utter lack of show prep and interest thinks they're talking about some other Russell. Wtf. And at the very end when he gives the guest a chance to talk about a few of his *own* ideas, he cuts him off with a classic "Sorry, out of time, you'll have to come back."

I hereby formally apologize to all those bellgabbers who I recommended last nite's show to.  If you ever get a chance to hear Pinchbeck in some other setting, perhaps interviewed by a rational adult rather than an uninformed megalomaniacal blowhard, do it, trust me he's an interesting fellow.

As for Hoagie and this ridiculous show I've followed for a year now, I'm over it.  I will never take the show even slightly seriously again.  I will follow the sage advice of others on this thread who look at this goof's show solely as a kind of tragi-comic performance art of random blatherings.

Don't feel bad, Zeebs.  It's Hoagie; we know what to expect by now.  I think he's like my folks who are about his age and watch the news all day.

Lilith

DANG!!  I enjoyed listening to everyone except Hoagie.  He seemed enthusiastic, but confused.  Ok, so well, maybe I enjoyed Hoagie too, that's part of his charm after all.

JesusJuice

I fell asleep listening to this and was in and out of consciousness. I remember waking up at one point and hearing the guest go "I just wanted to talk about faces on Mars and arcologies and not this politics bullshit!" Paraphrasing.

Thanks K_Dubb.  I admit I've been in a bit of a denial state, clinging on to those few early shows of yore, which were actually worthwhile for more than just the loony factor.

But as of last nite I've had an epiphany, and will now make it my life's mission - or at least until I get bored by it - to mock Hoagie at every opportunity.

I can see why SciFi & Shay have bailed, and Logan & Swordpoint's whereabouts are unknown.

Quote from: norland2424 on June 28, 2016, 01:09:48 AM
scifi is writing a book, shay i think works early mornings now, and Logan is doing some special ops job, sp9 not sure what happen to him.

Yep, Scifi is writing a book.  Doesn't matter though what he's doing; hence the quote below from the Art Bell thread.  It was a reply to Sandra (I think).  Therefore the Queen should be here to give updates.  :D  How the hell can things run smoothly when leadership is faltering?  ;D

...... Hoagland is dead to me. Dead.

Me?...I mirror Scifi's sentiment above.  Hoagie is dead to me and my schedule isn't an issue at all.  As much as I dig you Braapers...I can't just listen to have fun.   :-\

Cheers all!

Hi Shay, good to see ya.  Hoagie is still alive to me, but now only as a target for ridicule.  I think I am in good company here, so feel free to join us if you change your mind.   :)

Roswells, Art

Considering Hoagy's behavior the last two live shows, I'm starting to wonder if he's been doing some sort of speed.
