Go request your demise in the Midnight in the Desert thread, and we will see what we can arrange.

Requesting my demise is starting to look like a good idea in this thread as well.  :-[

Stine died in 1997. Was Wikipedia even around then?

I suspect what we're seeing there are fans of Stine's SF writing trying to keep his memory alive.

You are correct. He was one of four consultants, the others being:

Lindy Davis, who probably isn't the same Lindy Davis who's a professional criminal...
Charles Friedlander, an expert on mental health , now in jail on charges of pedophilia...
G Harry Stine, a model rocket enthusiast and SciFi writer

Thank you for the clarification.  :)

(It is always intriguing to hear how things actually were as opposed to the way RCH claims they were.)

Lindy, Charles, and Harry probably consulted with Uncle Walter. RCH got coffee for them.

Oh, I don't have any problem believing that RCH served in some sort of consultant role.*

Rather, it's the idea that one of the Big Three television networks was so hard up they (allegedly) had to hire a 23-year-old as "network science advisor" that I find so wildly improbable.  ::)

*Albeit very briefly, before his gargantuan ego started to manifest itself.

Where oh where are the Braapsters?  I can't do this alone.

Hoagland: "IT is not my cup of tea."

Understatement of the century.

I dunno. I only stayed up to see the jousting between Norland and Queen Bee.

Burnt out from scuttling chefist's thread?

=Schlyder=

Braaps.  I didn't fall asleep early tonight LOL

Well I am going to put the iPad up and just listen.

Braaps y'all.

It's odd that Hoagland should mention Velikovsky just now.  Earlier today, I was reading someone who described his (Hoagland's) gibbering via print (i.e. the Hoagland/Bara book Dork Mission*) as:

It's like Velikovsky meets The Illuminatus! Trilogy, with some of the darker themes of “Millennium” thrown in for good measure.

How about a précis for those of us who can't be tempted back to the Wade kingdom?  :)

Food coma.

10 minutes later and no new posts?  I guess I'm not the only one semi-comatose.  :P

I'm sorry I'll miss your call to (Redacted), but I can't listen to another minute of it for tonight.  Sorry.  :'(

Too bad. You missed a really good question about genetically modifying humans to survive on other planets.

Oh dear, I guess I shall have to pay the consequences of my folly, and remain alone on planet earth after all my fellow humans have left for other planets.
