He could put out one show a week on YouTube to get people interested. Or pick a segment of the show and put that out as an advertisement.

He used to depend on his guest appearances on C2C to drive web traffic to Enterprisemission.com

He doesn't have that available to him anymore.

That requires him to actually put work into it, and we all know he does bare minimum to get by.

Well yeah, there is that...

The point is, it is not like hordes of people are channel surfing through DMDN at the time OSOM is on. They aren't going to catch the live show on accident. Putting a couple of shows out on YouTube with the right keywords may get people interested in subscribing to hear more shows from the archive.

The only reason I am even bothering to post this is in the off chance that his producer takes a peek at this thread.

To me, it just makes good business sense.

I don't see what's in it for him, though. If he puts shows up on YouTube he might get a lot more listeners, but they would all be listening for free. In fact, I can imagine that people who were previously paying subscribers would stop if they found they were paying for something that was already archived, and at no cost.

If he gets enough views, You have an option to monetize your YouTubes these days. You don't have to pay for any bandwidth, or view limits like soundcloud has, and he would never be asked by YouTube to cover "bandwidth costs" .... Its free.

If you look at Wells viewership numbers on YouTube, you can see there is earning potential if you choose to monetize them, you don't have to if you don't want to.

I imagine Hoaxy would be all in for monetization.

Yes, that makes sense when you put it like that. I appreciate being taken to task in a courteous manner. Whenever I contradict Brig she usually just sends me dead animals through the post.

You must have mistaken me for someone else SV, I'm the one with Iron Fist in Velvet Glove.   ;D :-*

I was listening to Hoagie with my morning coffee, and just got to the part where Jackstar called in, just after Hoagie finished mentioning that he was surprised he had no callers.  Jackstar even said he was willing to talk about anything Hoagie wanted to talk about and Hoagie told him to call back when he has something he wants to talk about, and hung up on him   lol's

I'll bet that was planned  8)

I think Jackstar did it to find out if Hoagie read the Bellgab thread. Hoagie also had some recognition in his voice at Jack's name when I listened to the replay.

Aw I missed Jackstar's melt down last night. :( Sadness!

He's a weird guy. He probably staged a meltdown for some reason only he knows.

I haven't heard much from the Hoaxster about jumping to another network lately. He must be resting easy in his harness at DMDN. He is after all, the last man standing.

Doing a YouTube channel would require an inordinate amount of effort for him and going to another network would highlight his reliability issues to new bosses.

He's smart to keep his little podcast here. A couple-three hundred subscribers is probably enough to keep the lights on.

On the contrary, Monday night he made some mysterious noises about having to take several days off, hinting that changes with the network were brewing.

Robin did a good job last time.
She is smart enough to let the guest speak at times and guide when needed. Unlike GN who is too busy eating a turkey sammich and letting the guest ramble on and on.

My word. I missed that show. See what happens when one takes semi-regular nights off? Thanks K_Dubb.

Maybe you're right; I read some stuff into this:

Hoagie:

In the future, I'm going to warn you, depending upon how things go, there's a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes with this show, and with a lot of other things -- bigger things, as you're going to hear in the next few days.  I may have to leave this chair, this studio, for a few days, for a day or two, maybe three or four days, and go and do some stuff, um, kind of undercover?  Mmmmyeah I'd guess it'd qualify as undercover.  And I know that sounds very mysterious, but there's a lot of very, very interesting stuff going on, so A) stay tuned, B) don't panic...

Trump/Hoagland 2016. With hair like that, we might as well not even have an election.

Sounds great! Since Hoaxy doesn't know anything about tech I imagine he'll try to keep it political...of which Hoaxy is not exactly an expert at either...mmmm. Might be pretty good!  :D

Hoagie wants Kaku on the show?  I'd pay money to hear that.

Mostly what you'd be hearing is awkward pauses.   ;)
