The bottom line for me is that Hoagie is a great interviewee but a lousy interviewer; which is why he has to use fake callers to set him up to pontificate and expound upon his theories like he's being interviewed. He really can't do anything else. It's all he knows and it's too late to teach this old dog new tricks, apparently.

Agreed! This thread has been the real highlight ever since he started derailing. However, as witty and intelligent as many of the posts are here, I sense even it's running out of steam now, sadly. I mean, how long can we keep laughing at the same things?

A caller from last night's show was explaining something and used a word that Richard thought was "fucky." 
"I don't think you can use that word on radio."  Richard said.  (Which is funny because neither he nor Scott bleeped it out,)
"Oh no," the caller said, "I said "funky" not the other one."

This is why I like Richard's show...definitely not for the science.  Though he did go on a dissertation of how the moon was created that I found to be of interest and he did quantify things by saying it was all just speculation...I know, a rarity for Richard.

Believe it or not, I'm actually open to hearing about his wild, speculative theories and I did find some of his musings about the moon last night interesting but he's out of control now. He can't do a show that's not at least in some way about him and his thoughts. That's not an interviewer. It's a cult leader

Typical of him I've found, expat. Blustery but he never comes close to addressing the specificity of your issues with his statements. He avoids that altogether. He never lets his narrative be questioned. :

Hey, Bateman. Coincidentally, I was listening to an interview you did with Hoagie a couple years ago while I was wrapping presents last week. Now, as I was engaged in wrapping I wasn't always listening so intently but I seem to remember a point toward the end when you ever so carefully tried to question him on some of this stuff and he seemed to respond with his "It's just so new and cutting edge that only a handful of other people in the world would even get it" mode. I thought it was funny but I admire you for trying. I'll understand if you don't want to comment as you may actually want to interview the guy again and if he doesn't think you're down with the propaganda then...
