Well, I'm not sure how much longer I can continue to listen to this show. It just keeps getting worse now with no signs of ever getting better. Hoagie refuses to back down from his growing egotism or take legitimate open line calls. By now most realize that his fake open lines consist of then same super-lame, sycophantic callers we're all, unfortunately, familiar with now. He refuses to learn anything about his technical setup and so keeps torturing his audience with the same bumbling technical problems: Constant tapping on his mic while he's talking; unable to mute and unmute microphones, often blaming his guests and callers for not doing it as if they had some control over HIS mixing board; and all the braaps of the extraneous noises and sounds that seem to occur whenever Dick does his show. It's clearly the Uncle Hoagie Show now and will just always be the same ego stroking where nothing new is ever revealed or discussed. If they move him to 9/12 it will surely be the final nail in the coffin of the DMDN.

as much as he pontificated last night to the obvious placed callers...there is no way RCH has the ability to draw at an earlier hour even if he thinks he is the star of the network now

I think his confidence has been shaken and I am going to keep my subscription to OSOM but am likely to cancel MITD in January as Heather's show is boring and she lacks depth and experience in general and doesn't keep me interested. I have only managed to listen to one full show since Dec 11. I paid to listen to Art or at least, a professional and Heather is neither but seems like aa very nice person.

i, under the pretext of not attacking you lol, can not see how you think MITD is boring(i agree) and OSOM isn't when Hoagie is allowed to run around like a madman, when he is actually on, spouting off sheer nonsense about every thing he knows nothing about and continuing to call his listeners idiots cause we cant see the made up shit he sees on Mars and Pluto and that when he does open lines ..they are places calls about things he directs the conversation to

I really don't think so. I've been listening since day one with the genuine hopes of a decent and interesting show. However, like trostol points out, the only interesting thing anymore is listening for how pathetic he can be. How he cleverly thinks he's got us fooled into thinking it's an "open lines" show when it clearly is not. It's been fun to watch the train wreck but after awhile the bodies just start to smell. I'm at that point now. No biggie though. There are plenty of alternatives these days. Some of my favorite radio show/podcasts include Radiolab, Ground Zero, Dark City and the Joe Rogan Experience. However, none of these shows are call-in shows (except for GZ and I can never sync up with the live show for some reason). Even MITD seems like they're soft balling their calls now. I guess they're all afraid of us now. Which is too bad because there's nothing quite like the fun and spontaneity of a lve call-in show.

i do not think he wants sponsors and while sure there are those that will sponsor anything to get their ad heard..he doesn't have a big enough name to attach to even at 3 in the morning

as for replays/open lines..that falls on the producer...though i am thinking at this point Scotty really doesnt do much, obvious, but more so in terms of guests..i think thats all Dick calling to get people on now..cause a lot of the guests have been Hoagland cronies...people that will agree with Dick or have the same skewed views..i think Scotty is there just to do social media postings and such

He had his moments early on but it was always up and down and ultimately he just can't get out of his own way enough to be a good interviewer. I'll probably check back once in awhile but frankly, I've just been falling asleep more often during his show lately and when I am awake it's usually cringe-worthy.
