The pictures are great. I wish these ships could be preserved forever in Lucite. Unfortunately by the time you would be able to do that it's too late. Ships get used up. They keep getting demoted to lower uses until they're toast. That's just the way it works. Kinda like us.

Lots of discussion on that. I originally thought it was a camera artifact until someone did an analysis on resonance modes today. This looks alot like TM314 or TM414 mode which is simply a pattern of radio waves made by reflections in a closed space. Sorry to geek out, but its hard to describe without some tech stuff. Anyway, not sure what it is exactly, but its looking less like a camera glitch and more like a focusing of radio (microwaves) energy. Well, keep up the good work sir.  Whether it demonstrates a new effect or fails to show one, it is still valuable to have multiple parties performing the experiments and documenting the results.

I guess the sad part is that I don't think the US does many of these mega projects anymore, unless they are military related.  It seems like all the commercial ship building these days is done in SE Asia (I could be wrong but that is my impression).

Thanks in advance...Also, I just did a thermal cam test of my emdrive. It took me a while to save up for it, but donations helped. Some of this scientific stuff gets too pricey for the average home-boy budget. During the open lines show on Wednesday morning, members of 4Chan were apparently following our thread more closely than OSOM and making Yo' Mamma jokes about us or something (yeah, I know that's dated).

When I was 12, my school made us go to a local nursing home, one afternoon a week, for a few months, to visit the shut-ins. My assigned geezer was Will. Will had been an honest to god, real fucking cowboy, at the turn of the LAST century. At his request, I use to steal a few shots of my dad's bourbon, put it into an old alka-seltzer bottle and smuggle it in. He would get his buzz on and I would listen to him tell me stories of fist-fights and whores in the mining camps. I kept visiting the old bastard until he died, many, many months after my school stopped making us go. He was awesome.

Thanks to whoever posted the infamous useless eaters clip, as well as the full train wreck of a troll show from two nights ago.  Good GOD, that was a rough listen.  Not having been here long, I don't have the same behind-the-scenes view, or the loyalties, that a lot of others here have, but no matter... that was tense, and BAD, bad news for Hoagland.  What a shame.  Screwed up royal, and I'd add my voice to that whole if-pology conversation.  Add an "if you took it wrong," it negates the whole thing--and I've been through enough damn therapy to know.

Either way, this is an amusing series of real-time commentary to watch... and I'm probably gonna listen to OSOM *more* than I would have, otherwise.  This is like a low-level, 10% version of the time Charlie Sheen cracked while everyone was watching.  Hoagland may not have claimed to have tiger blood (yet), but time will tell where he goes with things...

Sounds like reasonable tactics. I wouldn't hold that against them. I'm thinking it'd be good if Hoagie realizes we're not the only ones who're distressed by the bad turns of OSOM over the past few weeks.

Most cruise ships are build in Finland (STX Finland, recently split up), Italy (Fincantieri) and Germany (Meyer Werft).

Overall the largest shipbuilding countries are South Korea, Japan and China, in order.

Part of STX Finland went to South Korea, the rest to Meyer Werft.

The rest of the world builds a trace amount. We don't build shit.
