I guess I need to say something about the email and messages I have been getting about RCH. I did everything I could to help him in every way possible, including getting a loan of expensive gear from Telos to transmit his show to the Network. I found Rossy for him. I gave him the best advice I could muster up on how to proceed. I provided help in more ways then I will try to detail here.

I am sad that events have unfolded as they have. I am not going to discuss specifics but will say that we are currently not in communication nor have we been for some time now. Sometimes you think you know somebody and then find out you never really did, just sad. Please understand that I do not run the Network, I just do my show.

see...this is the kind of thing that happens when you don't fully worship a narcissist.

This exactly sums it up. And since we do not fully worship the narcissist we are to be marginalized and then eliminated. We are to be purged and replaced by a legion of sycophantic RCH worshipers. No re-education camp for us - it's straight to the killing fields.

If you want to listen to Dick it is got to be on Dick's terms, GET IT? The same applies to pretty much everything else in "Hoag-land".

Problem for Dick is that he used to be accessible as a guest on C2C and other places with large listener bases. He now has a show of his own at zero dark thirty and is alienating folks left and right. Where is he cultivating new listeners from? The small percent that bleed over from Art and the even smaller percent of those folks for stay for more than a show or two? Is Art's show growing rapidly enough to support this "vampire" marketing plan? If so now it won't forever. Would anybody listening to Art on a terrestrial radio station ever know RCH was on afterwards or bother to switch over to the 'net to hear it if they did? The answers are likely NO and NO.

Don't get me wrong, the psychosis of the whole thing is entertaining. Kind of like watching a disaster in slow motion. It's sad though, too. What a waste, particularly since we now know that RCH CAN DO IT!

I'm not so sure you can work your way out of this anymore, Dick. But if you give a shit you better start putting out an honest effort to put forth real shows and gratefully appreciate everybody and anybody who makes the effort to listen. Stop shitting all over those listeners you have. I know it's hard, but just stop being an ass.

And while I'm on a roll, stop screwing with the stream to disconnect people's devices. I've been wondering why this has be happening and now I know. Do you want me to count as two listeners or ZERO? On the other hand if you feel the need to monetize every second someone listens to the golden words that you utter take the show off the internet and make it a subscription based podcast. Lots of luck with that, BTW.

So lets see. RCH had a wonderful producer who he did not want to pay -and- he would love to make each listener pay for every second he's talking and they're listening. Nice work it you can get it, but it's not likely to happen.

Time to get straight, Dick!

A lot of people forget Art doesn't run Dark Matter Radio.  I respect him for reading and answering emails not related to him.  He truly is patient and tolerant.  Plus I'm sure he doesn't want any stink to get on him.

norland2424

So dumbass hoagland even fucked things up with Art it seems, at least now we know once he loses more subs Art won't fight for him when Keith Rowland cuts his ass loose.

Haha I have actually never listened to him! But after I finish off Hoaxie's show I will see what the Torsion field can do!  ;)

But I don't think Art really needs my help in taking him down. Art has the superior product and everyone knows it.

So when the initial drama happened Leo posted a cryptic facebook message that said something along the lines of careful the bridges you burn and he won't help. For some reason I always wondered if that was directed at Hoaxland. I still find it very suspicious that Scott was a fan of Alongside Night Radio.

Of course, the way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if monday's episode is another repeat and we find out the show has been canceled or Hoaxland quit.

that used to be the kind of thing they did up here at some universities.....grab the newbie, get him beaucoup drunk, drive him somewhere way out in the woods, strip him naked, tape a credit card to his foot and leave

good times

Credit card? We never left anybody with a credit card.

I always took that as him being mad since Art sided with Rowland, since leo pulled the whole its him or me, you know you are right about scott and i still kinda think scott is eyeing hoaglands spot, i still think hoagland will say something stupid about Art on the air, or act like hes the victim of Art.

A lot of us gave Hoagie a pass because of how Noory treated him on air.  Plus the implied relationship with Art.  Face it...we all were curious.

Hoagie made me like him.  I can't stomach the glass dome, faces on Mars, artificial structures on every planet narrative he spews.  It was entertaining for a little while.  However...and this is where he got me...he showed a side we never saw.  It was his 'Dick Cavett' style and ability to be the 'generalist' he claims he is and take on different subject matter.

At the beginning we had serious doubts and made fun of the quirks of the show (Braaps).  Hoagie embraced it and showed he can be part of the fun. I lost track of how many times the peeps here stated their amazement of how good the show was.  A lot of us clamoured for that 3rd hour.

Furthermore...I was going to buy him a pizza! LOL!
Even developed the 'Hoagie hoagie'.  It's quite good, IMO.  ;)

It is all our fault his numbers dropped, but 2 minutes later he bragged his numbers were rising asymptotically. Well I guess when you start at 2, then the asymtope is relative.

He said asymptotically but was that a malapropism? Did he actually me exponentially or something else. If his listenership is increasing asymptotically he's finished.

Might take some work, as Noory has his own "swirl of suck" surrounding him like a shield.

After last night, it seems likely that's what we'll hear on Monday assuming there will still be a show. The whole thing is just sad especially considering the potential of what the show could have been. All that's left is for him now is to go all Ashcraft and melt down.

trostol

one of three things will occur

1. There will be no show, it will be a re-run while he and Scotty Don't work on damage control

2. There will be no show due to him being pulled off the air

3. He will play the victim, blame Art, then will be off the air

The one thing we can take from Arts message is that it is out of his hands, so it lies on Keith and Hoagland, since i don't see Hoaglands ego letting him quit, its all on Keith, only way Keith will drop him is when the subs drop even more so in numbers.

As long as Hoagland can afford $1000 per month he will be on the air. Keith won't pass up Robin's money.

I guess the old adage you can't teach an old dog new tricks needs an update.  You can briefly teach an old Dick new tricks but he'll soon revert to form and act batshit crazy.

I wonder if he'll likewise claim ex post facto that last nite's debacle was some kind of experiment.  After living through it, my brain feels like it might have been through one.

I'm wondering if what's going on isn't an analogue of "suicide by cop".
