Ross, you are a great producer: creative and intellectual, inquisitive and persistent, energetic and passionate, respectful and diplomatic (but not reverential) and capable of seeing the potential in the sometimes obscure "undiscovered" guests,  the always irascible Richard C. Hoagland, and the quantum unknown of the late-night audience.

I will miss the hand of Saucy Rossy in the production of the surprisingly wonderful Other Side of Midnight, and I wish you much happiness, and all the success you want ("but don't forget what happened to the man who suddenly got everything he wanted" -- Willy Wonka)

Wow, thank you. That's beyond kind of you to say.

Glad to see you back...thought a Cuban whore might have kidnapped you ;D
Funny you should say that, even though my home is 90 miles from Cuba i had to go to Miami and i see 100% more Cubans in Miami.
I have some things i have to work on and may take a nap before the show, i may be on tonight, hope so, I'm catching up on some of Arts shows now while I'm working.
And i stayed in one of the shittiest motels while i was in Miami, OOOOO the stories of the last 5 days  8)

So Saucy....what's the deal? What projects are you working on now? Would love to know the details, if possible.

I am leaving my position as Producer, to continue to pursue my own creative projects and passions that I had put on hold to work on the show. Thank you to everyone that's been such great supporters of me and the show, I really appreciate all of you, you all made this a lot of fun and I was happy knowing you enjoyed the work I did on the show.

You are a bunch of vaguely loveable bellgabbers, I'll be around.
Wouldn't you know it Saucy, you dropped your post about a 1/2 hour after I left the thread.  Lol.
Hey Brother - I wish you the best !  :)
Thank you for all the work you put in to make OSOM one of the most Kick-Ass shows on the net. RCH does an excellent job (so much better than I expected he would before he & Art came back on the air), but I don't think that would have happened if you didn't get him the guests you did.
May the 19.5 torsion field of The O.S.O.M. strengthen you in all you do.

OK - Now for the official stuff:

As High Priest of the Cult of Braapinality and The Golden Order Of The Braap - I...   Logan-5 -  hereby exercise my duties in the ceremonial  and actual changing of the guard.

*Step forward Saucy*

SaucyRossy - Grand Druid of the Domain of the Other Side Of Midnight,
                        - 2 of 9 of the inner circle of The Golden Order Of The Braap,
                        - Guild-Master of The Cult Of Braapinality,
You are hereby honorably relieved of all duties and responsibilities of your office in the service of the Other Side Of Midnight.

For your faithful service above and beyond the call of duty, we present you with the ceremonial silver comb of the immaculate hair,
fully imbued with the power of the Hyper dimensional 19.5 Torsion field

And the Braap Manhole cover

(Be careful, that's Zeebo's cousin.)

Use them in good faith.

The changing of the guard is officially concluded.

Visit us often Saucy, & once again, best wishes      :)

And i will be naked as usual.
Brother Barfly, glad you're back.   :)

I would not be at all surprised if this show ceases to exist by Christmas. Hoagland is absolutely notorious for starting new projects with enthusiasm, then getting bored and walking away leaving others in the lurch.

Ross was excellent at finding new, interesting guests rather than the same old crowd.  If Hoagland now ends up interviewing the tired old George Noory guests I'm not sure how long the program will last either.

Hahaha nice one!  I've been dreaming about turkey and cranberry ever since the weather changed.  Convinced my mom that since Grandma was from Canada we should celebrate both.  So happy thanksgiving, you strange people in America's hat! Joining you for the first time!

Welcome, honorary Americahatian.

Happy Thanksgiving, GFP!  May your feast be plentiful and scrumptious!

Thank you RGG.  We have left over turkey if you would like to come up and help yourself.

I think Ross is going to brief the new producer. Ross knows our likes and dislikes and will impart his wisdom. Let's give the new producer a chance to establish him/herself. Richard is proving he's capable of interviewing a variety of guests. I'm keeping an open mind. Time will tell, but Richard will be Richard. I just feel that Ross will leave the show in good hands.
Well put Brother FBB

Ah don't worry.  We're not Quebecois so no poutine here :)  I'll look out for the Wienermobile.

Unfortunately, the Wienarian Meat Ship is temporarily out of commission because Michael Horn took it for a joyride without fully understanding the awesome acceleration power of its coronary-implosion engine.

Canadians are a strange lot...
I like our "Tasty" friends / neighbors  to the North.   ;)
They're just a hop skip and a jump away from me across the Gichigami.
Strange - possibly, but then again, I've been called worse.  :)

Rossy is leaving? Damnit! :( I am sad now. Who else can I give random compliments too who will argue with me about how wrong I am? I think Rossy is a masochist who hates praise. I am going to have to start complimenting Shay randomly or something to fill my compliment quota.

I may or may not be here tonight. Loads of things to do. I am definitely skipping Art's drug show. If Richard starts having boring guests like Art has been having I will be very angry! I will FORCE Rossy to return as producer using my knowledge of Torsion Fields and 19.5 if the guests and topics become as subpar as Art's have been.

Oh and I love crazy Richard. I love all sides of Richard except political Richard. And the Richard who makes me sad and refuses to take phone calls.

Crazy Richard is fine in doses..i like Cavett mode Richard better..though he needs to do away with that lil school girl giggle he has

Across the what?

Lake Superior. I quote a Canadian named Gord.

The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead
When the skies of November turn gloomy

Happy strange Canadian early thanksgiving day. Let me ask you this, do the Quebecois celebrate it too?

Erm... had to check Wikipedia.

QuoteThough the holiday enjoys statutory status in Quebec, French-speaking Quebecers do not typically consider it an important holiday.

Happy Indigenous Peoples Day!

great map in this article

http://www.npr.org/sections/codeswitch/2014/06/24/323665644/the-map-of-native-american-tribes-youve-never-seen-before

Yeah, that's amazing. I did a huge amount of research into the conquistador expeditions into North America for a failed book project once and it's amazing how recent the historic tribes themselves were. The Spanish accounts show that the Indians of the southeast particularly were very different in 1539 living as Mississippian agricultural mound civilizations as opposed to the nomadic tribes of 1750. It's suspected that the presence of the De Soto expedition set off a social calamity among the Native Americans and caused severe damage to their societies. So even this map still shows the influence of Europeans.

Sadly I have to agree with you both about Art and Art's shows.

I subscribe to both and I can honestly say that when I go into my subscriptions, I am choosing OSOM over MITD every time. I haven't even listened to Art's shows for more than a week from the archives because the topic and guest did nothing for me...and yeah, maybe just me.

I'm loving Hogie's shows no matter what mode he's in. He is engaged, refreshing, inquisitive, genuine...he has both depth and breadth although he can go off a little bit..well you know.... but that's all part of the package and the Braaps charm IMHO.

If I had to choose to give up one subscription over the other, which I don't right now, it would be MITD.

Yes, Art is a great interviewer however Hoagie's up there neck in neck if not ahead.

RCH will engage with glee in topics with enthusiasm and open mind that Art doesn't seem to want to touch.

This time around with MITD, Art seems a bit forced, a bit like he's putting it on and I'm not getting a heck of a lot of sincerity in what he's putting out there....and this is from a long time listener going back to the early '90's.... :(

OSOM and Hoagie should take off like wildfire, especially if the third hour ever gets done.  OSOM reminds me of the magic we all once felt back in the '90's when we all fell "in love" with Art.

Hoagie is bringing it...who would have ever thought?!?!

This time around for me, Art is not....

Sidenote....Rossy, a HUGE part of this was YOU!! Rossy leaving.....I'm sad too...

If OSOM starts going down hill, which I hope it doesn't, you better get right back in there....

I might do something that will air twice a month as a podcast but it won't only be these topics. It'll be very different and everything from sports to video games.

But that's a big if and probably won't happen for awhile. I had been thinking of doing something like this for about 8 months now.

Cool. That sounds excellent, Rossy. You'll certainly have an instant following from around here. Hope it comes about.

Braaps definitely won't be the same without you. No question your influence has improved the show.

There will be a few braapers surprised Monday night such as Hoagies Honeys...TigerLily, Sandra, Maren, LoneVoice....Then there's Barfly, pate, Trey etc.
Awww...Rossy, me boy. We hardly knew ye. Well I guess we almost made it through the weekend drama free.
Rossy, congratulations on pursuing your own dreams. The braapsters will miss you dearly. This podcast has been so unique and such a welcome surprise. A lot due to Richard but I think a huge part due to your outstanding efforts, creativity and vision

Nice moniker, Mild Bill. Thanks. Hopefully, we will remain "sweet" on Richard in the Rossy-free future
