In mustard sauce?  ???

Soybean oil. I'm going to go for it, but some pringles would be really nice right now.

Party lines had lurkers too. That's how all the gossip got spread around.
I've heard people mention they could hear neighbors or chatter bleed through. Oldtime hackers would listen in on these things as well.

Listened to his entire show for the first time, he always seemed to be flying by the seat of his pants with every explanation. Can certainly see his appeal.

There was a roleplaying game- GURPS Cyberpunk

...

As if this GURPS Cyberpunk even was a light shade of pale comparison to BRAAPS Lunardome.

You weren't one of the "kewl kidz" back in the day, were you?

(MFM, me neither.  But I do still have all the rule books, so I can be the BrapMaster and have me revenge!)

Totally agree, thank you. I think we learned our limits, I'll think of this as a shakedown cruise.

From now on, no more of these issues.

Good old BRAAPS Lunardome.

I was in the midwest at the time and we would kill long winters playing RPGs or cards. Pretty normal out there.

You really need to try to get some actual comic book creators like Warren Ellis or Jonathan Hickman, or Grant Morrison on.

It sounds like my decision to play computer games tonight was a wise one.

DO TELL!!!  ;D
For the younger crowd:
I don't think most peeps today truly understand what a party line actually was.
A party line was common in rural areas - usually along the same stretch of road. Generally, 20-40 different homes were connected on one phone line. You would first pick up the earpiece to see if anyone else was talking on the line. Common courtesy dictated that you wait 'til their conversation was done to use the line for yourself as only one call at a time could be placed outside the party line, but you could still listen in on the peeps that were talking, and join the conversation too. It was the greatest thing that ever happened for the town gossip though. They could let the receiver off the hook and wait for someone to pick up the line. Then they could listen in on everything that was said. This was before there was such a thing as a busy signal.
On incoming calls, it was like morse code, each house had a specific ring pattern, i.e. the Jones had 2 long rings and one short, the Marcums had 3 short rings etc. etc. etc.. The phone didn't ring just at one house, it rang at all houses on the party line. Not only did everyone know there was a call coming in, they knew who was receiving it once they learned the ring codes.

What, how do I know this you say ? My grandmother used to tell me stories about it. If you had a party line, you had no privacy on the phone. We're in the same situation today w/ cell-Phones. Anyone can intercept those signals with home made or very cheap equipment(plus it's very simple to modify a police scanner to pick up cell transmissions), but most peeps think it's a private call, ha ha ha.

Hi folks!  Long time no post, I'm in New York visiting family.  But, I had a NASA release of another of my Pluto animations today.  It's a 30-second animation "fly over" of the encounter hemisphere, showcasing all the images we got back last week.  The link has a post explaining it and a link (and embed) of the YouTube movie.

And P.S. Rossy, yes, accidentally posted on my ONE alt account because M¡¢ael Hr0n has specifically targeted me in the past for things.  I can honestly say that's the only reason I made that alt account on here and that's the only thread I've posted in with it, until here by accident cause I was still logged in on my laptop.

Message to RCH - get more of your older shows up on YouTube.  It's free advertising and it will get you more subscribers.

Normally not into your torsion field / alien ruins stuff , but I'm utterly loving your show.  Which has been a surprise to me - you're a perfect aftershow compliment to Art Bell. The dessert after the main course , so to speak.

And boy is it an exquisite and delectable Creme Brulee.
