Wow.  I'm actually shocked.  Is there a pool to bet on how long he remains this go around?

How about we get one started right now?  Entry is 100 BellGab bucks, limited to one entry per person.

Let's see: he lasted July of 2015 through April of 2016* on DMDN, making for a run of nine months (±).  Then he inflicted himself upon KCAA from April of 2016 through October 2016, making for a run of six months (±).  Based on his past performance, perhaps the smart money this time around would be on three months?

However, I am going to pick six months.  Why?  Because I think that it has occurred even to Hoagland that he is fast running out of vanity radio stations that will take a cheque from him (I suspect his "payment issue" with KCAA has made the rounds of the radio world).  This, in turn, means that he will feel the need (Stephen Bassett not withstanding) to start out strong, meaning that he'll likely be stone sober for the first two months, maybe three.

Of course, the old patterns will begin to assert themselves and Hoagland will soon start to wonder why WBCQ isn't paying him to broadcast rather than the other way around.  Seeing as how he is on a two-day workweek this time around, I don't see his innate crankiness getting the better of him until the 4-5 month mark, which puts his reaching the "downright insufferable" stage at 6 months.

That's my guess, anyway.  Who else wants to have a go?

EXACTLY.  :)

I just hope they dress properly.  When you meet people at a gathering for the first time, nothing's more embarrassing than mismatched fabrics and colors that are out of season.  Just sayin'.  And I would hope they'd bring a casserole or something.  I don't want rude aliens showing up at my place.  :D

Even if they just ordered Pizza to be delivered, I'd be happy.

Oh No's.  The last time we saw a co host appear in the first few shows we got Heather.  :(  Is this foreshadowing and getting us used to Hoagies replacement?  :o
Bite your tongue...       bite it hard.   >:(    ;)

Oh yeah!  They could contact you and say "Hey, we're just outside of the moon...Domino's or Papa Johns?"   ;D

Ha.  Hoagie's goodbye gets drowned out by the end of show music.

OK, if they bring you something to eat and something shinny THEN can they use your DNA to breed hybrid children?  ???

If they are hot aliens, then I'd oblige.  It's been quite awhile. :-[  I miss the touch of a Pleiadian, Reptilian, Grey, Insectoid, woman.  :D

That's it?  Better lay in a candy dish full of cocaine in case Hoagland has him back.

When he first came on the scene it seemed like he was doing a lot of good work for disclosure but he lost a lot of credibility with me when I saw an interview with him where he claimed he could summon UFOs by meditating out in the woods or something and that he was holding seminars to teach others to do the same.  ::)

Don't you do a lot of shit out in the woods.  No pun intended.

Indeed! You have to imagine Hoagie in nothing but assless chaps, a bola and the accutron (of course).  ;) ;) ;D

I totally forgot Hoagie was on last nite.  Then I saw the guest was Bassett.  Now I feel smart for missing it in retrospect.

Fortunately for him, Hoagland doesn't view his radio appearances in terms of how he can make them interesting for the audience; that would require him to consider other people, an ability that Hoagland has proven he simply does not have.

Rather, he views them as not-to-be missed opportunities for both remaining OSOM listeners to hear his voice.  What he actually says is immaterial, as long as he gets to hear himself talk.

(And, well, just what more do you want?)

"Conveniently fantastic!"  Am I the only one detecting heavy drug use by M here?

QuoteThis Tues, 6/13/17 from 9pm - 12am Pacific, The Other Side Of Midnight will air a special LIVE broadcast to discuss significant fluctuations in Tabby's Star!

Hoagland: Look...fluctuations!

Hapless Guest: Are those significant?

Hoagland: Why, yes!  They are!  Well, that's all we have time for this evening...

The inside of what?  Anyone with a shortwave radio or Internet connection can listen to this "special" broadcast.   ::)

Hoagland still seems to be living in 1965, a time when live radio and television broadcasts were still something of a Big Deal.  The problem is that everyone else is living in 2017, where such events are banal.

(Can someone please phone into the programme and ask Hoagland if he thinks ballpoint pens are going to catch on?  The answer may prove surprising.)

Is it too much to hope he will convene the Imaging Panel for this event?  Is it members-only?  I may have to succumb.

I hope so - only they could detect arcologies from light curves.
