I was all hyped when I saw the previews before its release, then I was kind of disappointed with the movie. Not enough action for me  at the time. I re-watched it about 6 months ago, and it's pretty good - or let's just say I can appreciate it more now.

i suspected exactly that. to me the movie was too slow and i think i fell asleep at some point in the theater. this was around 1979 or 80 when it came out. i located a copy in the late 2000s but have yet to watch it.

to tell you the truth, even tron was kind of boring when i was a kid. i love it now, but in the 80s it used to put me to sleep if ever it was on one of the movie channels. for years i dreaded watching the black hole again, but i would give it a shot now.

Sounds like they have to be hooked up to an air compressor too...which really detracts from that whole futuristic thing.

Actually, it is pretty good. When it first came out, I was expecting something on the scale of Star Wars, which it wasn't. But, it's still a good movie.
