In case this hasn't previously been discussed, there is a Knapp App available for free... I just downloaded it to my IPad...

you got that right.
with Noory we would have instead gotten a night with his "scariest story" hotline or some such, plus UFO Phil, and Noory's own singing or sound effects, yuck...  :P

Luckily we get an extra night with Knapp this Sunday as well.  :D

looks worth grabbing.

Caller around one hour 25 minutes is fucking hilarious: him and his dad worked in area 51, his aunt is the only woman in the world with extra vertebrae, etc.

Apologies if this is a rerun, but it's worth posting again... here is bio of the Knappster from KLAS-TV (his tv station).  He would have been an interesting taxi driver!  C2C is lucky to have him as occasional host, IMO.  I wish it was more often.

Music to my ears... Knapp again!  And what could be a classic coast topic.  Disappearances in national parks.  Now, I have hiked a lot of the western US parks and never had a clue how many people went missing under very odd circumstances.  It could almost have been a Ghost to ghost show with how creepy some of the disappearances have been so far.  Inside out jeans, a few scattered body parts, people vanishing into thin air with only a lens cap and eye witnesses as proof that they ever visited.

I almost wonder if Knapp is trying to get fired.  On Friday I think that he told the call screeners to allow through every call that they would normally block and deny any call that would usually get through.   I swear he did this to show what C2C could still be.  Tonight he gave a nod to Art by saying that he was going to play a song that his "old friend, Art" used to play quite often.

Is Knapp baiting Noory?  Man is it nice to hear a good and somewhat creepy interview.  It makes me almost think twice about hiking and camping in those parks.

SnapT

Just me or did tonight's guest just say the f-word live on air?  He's talking to Knapp about a child telling a story of cuddling with a grizzly bear all night, and he says "C'mon, that doesn't fucking happen."  After he said it Knapp made an audible breathing noise, but didn't comment.

I bet Noory would've FLIPPED!

What a fantastic show!. I haven't dozed off once. Very creepy and totally reminiscent of a good old-fashioned Art show. Bravo Zulu to GK!

WOTR

The first time I heard Art I was driving West from the West rim of the Grand Canyon.  It was late fall past the tourist season and the West rim is not a popular spot for tourists to begin with (the North and South rims are the popular spots.)  It was dark, I was running low on fuel and taking into consideration that I had not seen a car since a few hours before reaching the West rim (at this point, possibly 5 hours) I thought that I was on the wrong road.  My top speed in a 1981 Jetta diesel was 30KMPH due to the rough road and the fuel level was getting down to less than 1/8 of a tank with no end in sight.  I was already wondering about what would happen.  Nobody knew I was heading to the West rim, I was probably a couple of hundred KM from having seen anybody with a couple days of food and water in a dessert.  I'm not even joking- if this were the show I heard at that point it would have caused my heart to stop when my hood flew up and blocked all light.  I hit a paved road (still nobody in sight) and the washboard had caused the latch to pop and the safety to release.  I didn't know what had happened until I saw the little vent holes.  After hearing about armed hunters found scattered in tiny pieces and people vanishing I would have dropped dead while still in my teens or early 20's of heart failure. (Fortunately, it was the illumanati and Red Elk.)

I have been impressed.  I am actually creeped out.  This may be one of the top 10 episodes ever (and that includes the ones that Art had hosted.)  I liked the nod to the highway of tears in BC.  It always fascinates me that 50 women can go missing on a single stretch of highway and nobody has seen a single thing in years.  No bodies, no clues, no sightings.  I had, until now entertained only the thought of a serial killer.  Whether it is just a serial killer or not, it was interesting that it has hit the guests radar...

Sorry Snap; I missed the F word if it was, indeed uttered.  I find myself wondering how many ways Noory could have screwed up this interview.  Talking over the guest, pointless stories, dumb questions, talking about big foot and putting out his own theories.  Outright asking if "it could be aliens" and reminding us all that he does not believe in coincidences.  I'm so happy that this was was handed to Knapp who lets our imaginations run wild.  This is so much better when your mind races to come up with it's own reasons and solutions to the questions raised.

Knapp's show last night was as creepy as I thought it would be.. Loved it. An instant classic--something you can't say about many shows recently

I just came on here to plead with someone to tell me that this show sucked big time.

I'd been waiting all week to hear it, then freaking fell asleep.  Heard the part about the neatly folded clothes and that was about all I remember.  How is it I can have the worst insomnia when Simple George is on, and when serial killer/aliens/large animals cuddling children in the forests are on with Knapp, I am dead to the world?

Does anyone know a way to hear this program without sending money to join Georgie's "club"?  (It's not the money, it's the principle of the thing.)

Noary doesn't even pay attention or care about what goes on during his own show, he can't possibly be interested in someone elses.  And I sure don't picture his staff bringing it up...

I've PM'd you a link - to a site that's really no secret, but I'm feeling a bit James Bond today.

I'm listening to the national parks show right now - utterly fascinating stuff.

I agree last nights show was very creepy. unfortunately I also fell asleep about halfway through. George Knapp is a very good host. maybe coast to coast can survive the massacre its currently going through with George "big dummy" Noory.

expat

I also agree that was a cracker of a show, content-wise. However, whoever was doing the audio mix should be fired. The balance between GK and the guest was bloody atrocious. I had to ride my own volume control, walking the tightrope between audibility and wife-annoyance.

Last night was the first time since Art's halloween farewell that I turned everything else off and listened to C2C.

Great show.

Kaiborg

Hey everybody.  Long time listener/lurker first time poster here...

Mad props to GK for the show last night!  I have to agree, that was the first show in a LONG WHILE that both held up to the old Coast' standard, and creeped the hell out of me.  Masterful interviewing...   and practically ALL of those accounts were mind blowing.  It's seriously good to know that there's still the potential for a good show every now and then, no thanks to snoory.

SnapT - I almost feel guilty for bringing it up, but I caught that too!  And I was thinking that SAME THING.  That little gasp from GK could have been a giveaway, but was actually a well played maneuver.  Lesser hosts probably would have blown show right there.  In all seriousness I hope no one gets enormous trouble for that.

BobGrau - Such a great show, I ALMOST want to renew my stream membership, but that would be money well wasted, right?...   What's this "not so secret" site you mention?  My apologies if I'm asking too much here, me being a newb and all.

Maybe not the right thread, but I might as well say thanks to this board (in a general, all encompassing sense) for existing.  It truly is the only C2C forum that does not suck ass.   :)

go to http://funklobaldy.fatcow.com/2301.html then 'fb radio archives' on the menu to the left.

Note to PremRad - I would happily pay a subscriber fee if you made the full archive available. But you don't. Which sucks.

Last night's national park disappearance show was spectacular.  Totally creepy.  Last night was the first time since AB left that I've been awake all night listening to a show.  Knapp was great.

If Nooron had been hosting, he'd have wrapped up the show in 20 minutes with the closing line of, "Sumpthin's happ'ning out thur."  Only Knapp or Bell could have done such a great show on this interesting topic.

I just heard this (hour 4, about 08:30ish) - it could be "fuckin" or it may possibly be a fast "s'notgonnahappen". But yeah, knapp wasn't sure either by the sounds of it.  ;D

'Some' being the operative word. One had the solution to all the world's problems. How did I know his website was going to look like this ?

http: //thinktanknow.com/index2.html

While clearly more manifestly unhinged, is that guy all that different from a Linda Moulten Howe, or a Dr. Bruce Goldberg, a Numbers Lady Glynnis McCants, a "Dr." Evelyn Paglini, or even a Whitley Strieber? Does it, at the end of the day (spit), just come down to the aforementioned charlatans better marketing skills?

It was a good show last night, but he let the guest talk way to much before he would ask another question. In fact I think he might of dosed off, which
is why he only had 30 min of caller questions.
Rock on George Knapp

Kaiborg

Thanks BobGrau!  You are the man  8)

Guildnavigator - thanks man, it's a Korg Radias synth.  I see you play too?  Way cool tonemaster amp, I'll bet that thing sounds like butter.

Doesn't George Noary have a much, much longer delay, just in case someone gets through to complain about him and the wreckage he's caused?

By the way, George Knapp sure has gotten a lot of praise for this particular show - I'm going to def go back and try to listen to it.  One thing though - plenty of people seem to really like him, even say he should have been Art's replacement, so I'm a little surprised someone 'this good' gets such a response this time for putting out an outstanding show.  To read the earlier comments on this thread, don't his fans always think he does so?

CoastCanuck

I'm voting that the guest said "that doesn't fucking happen"  - I have streamlink - I played it 4 times and my husband agrees with me.

Noory's 'delay' is mostly in his BRAIN!

Personally I'm not a huge Knapp fan. I have a lot of respect for him as a broadcaster but I usually find his voice rather dull and difficult to get engaged with. And his usual UFO topics don't really appeal to me.
But this particular show was indeed an absolute gem.
Perhaps I'm exaggerating because C2C is rarely even edible these days, but this one was tasty and downright nutritious.
