George Knapp

If Knapp came out with a line of pajamas, I would buy a pair, especially if they could be delivered before Xmas, in a "Knappy-Gram"-type style.  (Available in flannel as well as silk).

Looking forward, with you all, to Knapp night.

Nice!  I've got my flannel jammies all ready.  Plus I shall be cracking open a bottle of the good stuff to help ward off the winter's nite chill.   ;)

I wasn't crazy about that one. Not that it's horrible or anything. It's just a little too flavorful for single malt to my taste.

Man, I hope I can keep my eyes open for a little Knapp time.  I wouldn't mind a shot of that, Zeeb.  I'm going the excess, tasty calorie route for tonight.  Time to polish off a little Graeter's Madagascar Bourbon, with some Hershey's.  ;)

That could be added to a Whiskey Alexander to make a very tasty drink, though being cold outside I'm going with some egg-nogg. (Why do I love egg-nogg but don't like milk? And, no, not only because of the booze in it because I don't like White Russians etc. But that is a partial reason.)

An old restaurant down here used to have a great Sunday brunch and made a wickedly good milk punch. Great to have a few of those, eat, and go home and watch football (and nap!)
Milk Punch
from Green Pastures Restaurant

    3 cups vanilla ice cream
    1 ½ cups milk
    ½ cup bourbon
    ¼ cup white rum
    1 jigger brandy
    3 ice cubes
    nutmeg

Combine ice cream, milk, bourbon, run, brandy and ice cubes in a blender. Blend until ice cream is liquefied and mixture has smooth texture of a thin milk shake. Serve in wine glasses and sprinkle with nutmeg. Makes about 5 cups.

Ha!  Hell, yeah.  A couple of those and I'd be headed for nap time instead of Knapp time. :)

I don't always like the sherried ones, but this one seems nicely balanced.  Kind of reminded me of the Aberlour 12 but a little more robust.  Still I would trade a little of its sweetness for a smoky note in there.  But that's why I have the Ardbeg 10 - that bad boy's like drinking a campfire lol.

Yeah, especially if you are 'over indulging' the good, peaty stuff makes you, upon waking, feeling like you've been drinking in a pub with a turf fire all night and the peat taste doesn't go away for some time- even after brushing etc. As an aside I wonder why Irish whisky is usually so sweet and lacks none of the smoke? Because it was made more illicitly back in the day and that kind of fire would attract attention? They burn peat also in their pubs and rural homes but, I guess, not in their distilleries?

As an Irish girl, Dad is McCarthy, Mom, O' Brien, I would say the Irish are sweet like their whiskey!  Ha!  OK, never mind!

Uncle Duke

I'm in, although the first guest is a nonstarter for me.

No Knapp show next weekend.  Can't say I blame him.

Paddy Power! Wait aint that a betting place? Anyway Shannon airport was supposedly source of Irish Coffee. Which on some levels (flying? Free-trade zone? Etc) of questions. But maybe, for the fancy drink. People been putting a shot in a coffee to get right for while. Cafe correcto with grappa etc? Got Knapp on. Window open at 21. "Spring weight" Norwegian dyne (duvet) on. No work or stuff this morning so staying up late. Had some eggnog n listening on my Sony ICF-SW11 on AM. Magic in the static.

It's been awhile since I've listened to coast. I forgot about the ungodly amount of commercials.  ::)

So great Knapp is finally doing a Skinwalker Ranch show. But almost would prefer he do a 2 hour soliloquy since he is so knowledgeable on the subject

Close, but not quite.  Irish coffee was "invented" at the Foynes Seaplane Port, not far from the Shannon Airport.  There is a museum at the seaplane port now, the Irish coffee story is a big party of their display. Always loved flying in/out of Shannon, great place for an aviation buff to airplane watch.  Was really cool back in the day when all the Eastern Bloc a/c stopped for fuel when flying those thirsty Soviet built airliners.

Only reason I keep XM is due to Elvis, Willie, Outlaw, Rural and OTR channels. Imagine my dream concert- Elvis with Leon Russell plinking away, maybe Willie plucking a few chords!!! But Leon and Elvis singing wouldve been great, really great.

The Indians don't want to say anything because they know they'd just be hassled by the government if they did. They learned their lessons that way long ago.   :D
