The name calling and smears?  The Libs started doing it in earnest from about the time Reagan took office.  The Republicans were called Nazi's, Hitlers, racists, they hated women and kids and old people, they were 'homophobes', they were against the environment, clean air and water, on and on and on.

This was done to intimidate, to eliminate debate on policy - if you were against whatever the Libs and Democrats wanted, then you were a racist or some other crummy person.  Big Media was in on it, supporting the Libs and Dem's all the way

Being decent people, it worked to a certain extent.  No one wanted to be called names, so too many shut up and surrendered. 

In 2008 things got serious.  The Left got one of their own elected.  Barack Obama said he was going to 'fundamentally change' this country.  A follower of Saul Alinsky.  A person who chose 60s domestic terrorist Bill Ayres as a close friend and mentor.  A person who chose the Black Liberation Theology Marxist preacher Jeremiah Wright as his close friend and mentor.  A person with ties to ACORN, and to too many other scummy people.

Some of us knew what we were getting, and people decided to stand up, fight for the country, and return the name calling and smears instead of cowering.


It's great the Left has noticed and doesn't like it.  I suggest if they want it to stop, they stop first.  They started it decades ago, after all.

It's to celebrate and honor centuries of political satire and point out we all need to lighten up and laugh at the president. And to show a complete lack respect for the office of the presidency as long as it's held by an inexperienced unqualified child that was elected completely because of skin color.


It's funny every time one of these Islamic terrorist attacks occurs more left-wingers stop and question their own beliefs. When 911 happened, Dennis Miller and Christopher Hitchens were 2 left wingers who suddenly stopped and reevaluated their views. Now it's famed atheist Richard Dawkins and political shock jock Bill Maher. It's interesting when people come to their senses and realize, hatred for the other side and everything they value, is not a grounds for a proper or healthy set of views. I believe the satirical magazine in question is actually regarded as quite rightwing.  There is an intriguing article on the NPR website today about satire and society and Charlie.  I am glad the gunmen are no longer a threat.  I fear they may now become martyrs.  I sort of wish they had been taken alive, put on trial, and stuffed into prison to muse upon their efforts.
