Should Art change the name of the new show?

It seems that there might be some negative connotations towards the name Dark Matter considering how that show ended. In that case do you think that Art should rebrand the show and go with a new fresh name or should he stick with Dark Matter?

I think change is good and I'd like to nominate the following:

Midnight in the Desert
The Art Bell Show
Dark Horizons
I can't believe what they did to my old show
George Noory Sucks

jazmunda

I wish he could use the name Somewhere in Time.

It suits the show perfectly.

Or, with a little more self-reflection and honesty...
I can't believe what I did to my old shows

if he comes back it should be titled, Art Bell delivered and web-mastered by Keith Rowland No cell phone callers and keep it G rated and hand me another smoke...

He should change it just for the sake of clarity.

I'm more concerned with content.  He's always done shows on a wide variety of topics, but since the topics he's pioneered have now been sooo overdone I think he should still do paranormal but make it a somewhat smaller percentage of the show.

And he should omit completely the worst of the traditional guests - Ed Dames comes to mind.  Any 'psychic' really.  I'd like Hoagie to be on the list of non-guests, but that's probably asking too much.

There is always something new and interesting in space and in science.  There is always something new in archaeology.  He could do shows on certain current events while leaving the politics out.  Or newly discovered or lesser know but interesting info from historical events.  There is plenty of material for potentially great shows, esp if he does something like one or two shows a week instead of trying to do it ever night.

To cover all of the bases, the new show should be entitled, Art Bell's "No Show"  Or Art Bell's "Know Show"

How about "Something to do until I get tired of you"

Yes, anything but the current Noory New Age Freak Show of Quacks and Crazies.  Some of Art's best shows were with the likes of Kaku.  Art, however, is the master at taking his audience to the fringe without always pushing them over the edge.  Too bad the show may as well be called "Here Today, Gone Tomorrow." :(

it should be called the art bell radio special, because theres probably only going to be one or two shows then he off and quits again once he realizes nobody is listening to his livestream but me and other bellgab users.

The Art Bell Show.

the good thing about this is that it helps get his name out there. art is mostly forgotten among the general public, so having his name right in the title can help to jog peoples memories and also get the word out to the many current coast listeners who just have no idea what happened to art (you can hear them call in from time to time and ask 'whats art been up to?', while noory responds with bullshit 'oh, i have no idea'.

point is, there could be many still living fans from when art was popular (lets be real, he started as a conservative talk show host and a large part of his audience was older people. i think he was very popular in the 'dont have your teeth' demographic, so at least a sizeable chunk of them are dead by now), who peruse paranormal podcasts and see 'dark matter radio', but just skip right by it, because his name is not associated with the title.

not that it matters anyhow, becuz my feeling is that as soon as his phone lines dont light up like the vegas strip after the first week flood of 'glad to have you back', im sure he's straight the fuck out of there.
i will look forward to a week or possibly two of good shows but cant expect more than that.

my opinion is that Art should do 2,maybe 3 (tops) shows a week. this way he wont run out of good material quickly, and wont burn out so fast. he could also do a few precorded shows (ala dreamland) now and again for when his back acts up or something. then at least we could get new content as opposed to a repeat.

"Art Bell Live!", sort of a Vegas feel for it and repeat classics from SIT, Dreamland, and C2C, if he could secure rights (or broadcast from a pirate radio station say in Mexico or on the internet from a server is some non-abiding country.)  Not  Art Bell Live! every night but maybe 2-3 days a week. Either repeat classic shows or, maybe, have guest hosts. "Bateman" comes to mind as a regular host as does LMH. Maybe get Knapp to leave C2C and do a gig a week there? A daily show, even just on weekdays, will likely burn him out and he would quit again. If callers are bad then he could only do "open lines" for one of those days and more of a Dreamland/DarkWeekend format with more detail on a single good guest.

I always like a reference to Area 51 lore or thereabouts.  "Area 15, where things go Pahrump in the night..."  [Area 15 is adjacent to Area 51]

I totally agree. Quality over quantity.

Yes.  "Art Bell's Back Show" (as in aching back)

I'm sensing some of you are bitter.   ???

People say that Art doesn't owe us anything well I'm sitting here with a Sirius Radio and Speaker Dock that cost me nearly $200 (plus the subscription) that I am using as an expensive paper weight.

Sure he didn't force me to spend that but I feel I was entitled to a little more time and a slightly better excuse.

I burned all my bridges in radio and all I got was this lousy internet show

This one's a good one too.

I've already awarded someone the internets so would you accept a 28.8K vintage modem.
