He seems to have disappeared off Twitter for the last week after being quite active. This guy is so fucked, it's delicious.

Probably on the advise of his lawyer.

You didn't get the memo.  Value of Pi is a centrist or so he likes to proclaim.  If you believe that, I have 163,696 square miles on the Pacific coast that stretches back to the Colorado River.  I'm trying to get rid of it but I have no takers. :-\

Not so much a memo but an orchestrated "framing" to bring what formerly were far-left or bizarre concepts to become "mainstream" and "normal." Call it Overton Window, Fabian dialectic, Frankfurt School, Gramsci, "Defining deviancy down" as Sen. Moynihan called it, Funcionalist perspective on deviance, etc. Through Hollywood, popular personalities, public education, government/Foundation funded public information commercials and programming, and political pressure groups it is a more subtle way to "fundamentally transform" than the more radical methods favored by the more 'street' orientated methods. And likely more successful over time.

Very well said.  His/her posturing is getting old.  There is all sort of evidence pointing out the corruption of Clinton and the Democratic party and he/she turns a blind eye to it.  Meanwhile, every time there is some sort of he said/she said allegation, he/she salivates in the mouth and goes on an attack spree.

I don't know why you're focusing so much on the left, Democrats and Clinton when Trump has made it clear that they are just the tip of the iceberg. He also hates and distrusts Republicans (however conservative they are), the media, the justice system and virtually every institution in society that is "corrupt" enough not to bend to his will. Even the Pope, who seems to be a good guy with all the right intentions.

Not that corruption is not a problem right now. It's just that Trump himself is a bigger problem. The "cure" is much worse than the disease. Many Americans (you'll find out how many) of all political persuasions oppose him for this reason. In fact, you could just as easily call me a rightist, since I am clearly further to the right of most people here in some areas, particularly where foreign policy is concerned.

Your real problem is that you're supporting a bad guy. Don't compound that problem by adding all the people voting against Trump to your enemys lists. They're just doing the right thing for the country.

1. "Your real problem is that you're supporting a bad guy." - this is your opinion and is as valid -or invalid- as 21's opinion.
So don't be so.. dictatorial about it

2. "It's just that Trump himself is a bigger problem. The "cure" is much worse than the disease."
Is electing Trump as a President good for America ? - or is not electing Trump as President bad for America ?

And that is your opinion.  No doubt Trump is no angel and he has done despicable things in his past but worse than Hillary?  Give me a fucking break.  The Clinton machine is as about as corrupt a political machine that has ever existed in this country.  I can't think of a more corrupt machine that has occupied the White House.  How you can't see that astounds me.  We need to fix our problems in the political system and for what it is worth, Trump is the only one that seems to be addressing the corruption right now.

He has no political experience but he most likely will bring a fresh perspective to the White House.  That is better than continuously electing lawyers to the position.  Is Trump lying by saying this stuff to get elected?  Maybe so but the good lord knows I would rather give someone else a chance than give the White House back to the Clintons.

As for being a warmonger,  I think Hillary is itching to go to war right now and can't wait to get into the Oval office.  At least Trump isn't presenting himself as a global bully.  Outside of ISIS, we should not be getting involved in any more wars until we finish the ones we are in now unless there is a grave threat to the US or its NATO allies.   I sure as hell don't want our troops fighting under the umbrella of the UN. Plus, outside of nukes, our military is at it's weakest strength in a hundred years.

Hillary has shown how corrupt she is.   Corruption is precisely the thing we should be worried about.  You do not reward corrupt politicians by putting them in office. You tar and feather them and send them packing out of town. I know I'm repeating myself a bit but it is to further emphasize the corrupt nature of the Clintons. Trump is definitely a dick and I would not be supporting him if there was a viable alternative but there isn't.  Trump knows it is a corrupt system and he's used the system to benefit his own ends: however, he has also promised to fix the system.  I'm willing to give him 4 years to try and do that.   Meanwhile, you are advocating a continuance of the same old rigged system.

You dislike Trump because you fear he may abuse his power.  Well, Barry Obama has already abused his and Hillary will follow in suit with more abuses of executive privilege.  Trump may very well do the same and if that time comes when he does abuse his power, I will slam him as well.  However, if he surrounds himself with good people then I will be less worried about it.

You persist in this notion that Hillary is more preferable and the result is you can't see the forest through the trees.   I urge you to be as unbiased as you proclaim yourself to be.  So far, in my eyes, you've just been another Clinton shill.

Well, considering how strongly you feel that Hillary is positively demonic in how corrupt she is, the next four years may be very, very unpleasant for you. Nobody that bad could do anything good in your eyes and so you'll just be waiting for the world to end.

You should read the article I posted last week about the "pay to play" stuff that went on at the Clinton Foundation. Like most of the more balanced reporting on the Clintons, you see what happens anytime power is concentrated in a place like Washington with a fairly small group of people. Some bad stuff balanced by some efforts to overcome the bad stuff. (The structure of the political system -- federal/state and other checks and balances -- obviously factors in too when you consider the big picture.)

Even in its current form, I see more reasons to be hopeful about the U.S. than I see reasons to give up and play Russian Roulette (especially when it involves real Russians as role models for the presidency, i.e. Putin).

That kind of rationalization of bad acts is exactly what perpetuates them and sets the stage for worse acts.  You allow yourself to become enured to the unethical and even illegal practices of Democrats and and blithely write them off to "just the way  business is done."  What you relativists think of as a pragmatic acceptance of reality many others think of as a gross cop out.  It's a slippery slope my friend.

As for who is more likely to get us into a war, Hilliary has already demonstrated her tendency in that direction.  I can hardly wait until she, as Commander in Chief, feels compelled to show the world that she hashttps://youtu.be/ufTPgfJEjxo a pair of cajones when confronted by one or more of our adversaries at one of the many geopolitically important flash points that presently exist thanks in no small part to her bungling while SOS.  Trump may bluster but he is a hard nosed businessman who knows when to cut his losses and when to press an advantage.  I'll go with Trump as opposed to a woman whose violent hissy-fits are legendary.

Really dumb question but what is preventing somebody from sitting on the embassy steps with a wifi hotspot enabled?

I was talking about this privately with someone last night. I think there's all kinds of crazy spook tech going on around that embassy. Watching how much trouble the Periscopers were having broadcasting when the internet was buzzing over the rumors of a raid leads me to believe something weird is happening.

I personally think Assange is already in custody or dead.
