Just saw a trailer for this movie on Tosh.0 and I got a strange (justifiable) notion that BellGab members will want to see it... VERY strong language and bizarre innuendoes (see what I mean? 100% BellGab)

Looks ridiculously unfunny. How do you get through an episode of tosh? That show is insufferable.
Seth rogen is behind the movie. Just knew it. No wonder it looks so good damn stupid.

Dr. Mabuse the gambler (1922). Not bad if you like silent movies and have five hours to kill.

Great flick!!!

Silent movie trick I often used. Watch them at 1 1/2 speed. You don't miss a thing.  ;)

That's cheating!!! >:(

Looks like Jorch momentarily possessed Jack. Noory probably came back and Jack died while he was under Jorch's influence.

"Can someone please get this motherFUCKER out of my head!"

oh yeah..just saw Suicide Squad

it was not as bad as i had heard or thought it would be..but that is no means calling it a good movie..Joker was awful, Harley(one of my fave comic chars) was..not good..and the voice felt..forced...and..Will Smith pretty much carried the movie...

Lilith

Jason Bourne

It was fantastic ...  Now I can't wait for the next one, again.

Watched the new Star Trek last week, I never really got into the Star Trek remakes and the first time I watched it with this cast. It was good, there was certainly action for what seems like the entire movie,it gets into it fast. The female alien ally was great, I really enjoyed her.

I am debating to watch Lights Out or Suicide Squad. LightsOut is playing in a regular screen so it will be less money the SS that's on IMAX. Thanks for the review trostol.

if you go see SS..see it on regular screen..it is definitely not worth the extra IMAX cash

Just saw Star Trek Beyond in 3D. Loved it! Well worth the 3 day round trip I had to take to see it.  TigerLily gives it two claws up

Wow, three days! Nice. I have recently decided to watch all Star Trek in order. I just finished the first season. They didn't show those episodes much on TV I think because I haven't seen them. Though I never searched for them. The City on the Edge of Forever was interesting. I think the point they were trying to make was the death of one (or a few) is better if it will save the deaths of hundreds (or millions). I am torn between agreeing and not agreeing. I would be interested in hearing others opinion in this varied site here.

Welcome to Star Trek geekdom, Roz! Long time member myself. Yes. She could have changed the world with her positive message of peace. But destroyed peace in the long term.  And Kirk didn't over act too much. Many Trekkers say this is their favorite episode of ST:OS

I watched The Lobster. It sucked but was sort of funny I guess.

Welcome to Star Trek geekdom, Roz! ...

Roz let us know if any other episodes stand out.  Being part of TL's aforementioned geekdom, my natural instinct is to start opining about my fave ones.  But I shall refrain from such spoilers!  Enjoy the show.

I eagerly await the new ST's appearance on Netflix or Amazon Prime, I enjoyed the first two Abrams offerings.  Due to thyme/money constraints I am frequently "behind" the pop-killture curve.

The original ST & strangely the ST:Enterprise series starring the Quantum Leap guy and the hawt Vulcan chick are my two favorites in the telly-tube genre, DS9 holds a distant third, but the static placement of the station made it unwieldy in the ST mythos (the ship on the move in all other instances).

To my reason for visiting this thread today:

I have worked my way through the first season of TNT's "Falling Skies," the premise is intriguing; I am watching in a critical MST3K sort of way and for sleep aid.

The pilot was a lot of fun, picking out the nods/rip-offs to/from other Movies/TV was entertaining (some scenes seemed directly copied from the original Terminator movie).  I have also enjoyed suspending my military disbelief on uniforms (rank insignia?), tactics (evil alien base in central boston is often visible in shots of the refugee columns that are purportedly "sneaking away" {I see you, you see me?}), and other fun unnecessary dramatic intar-luudes in combatzone settings.

The background placement of patriotic murals and the name of the High School (??) they eventually use as a temporary command post were fun to speculate about as well as the whole Revolutionary War 1st, 2nd, 3rd &c Taxachussetts (Regiment/Brigade? Not Sure) angle.  It being set in Taxachussetts and the series produced by Canadians; I naturally have my Illuminati Eye open for commie agit-prop subliminations, rich ground to plow there...

I will give the second season a chance if the subliminal commie agit-prop remains ambiguously in the background, but will abandon ship if the series (started in 2011) as I catch up to the "now" brings the subliminal political shiet to the forWar-front.  As of the first season, it seems to be more Nationalist/Socialist than full Communist, and we all know the old movie adage:  "Never go full ComTard."

Bonus tie-in syncroniCiti-Bank:  Moon Bloodgood of "Terminator: Salvation" fame is a series star (only notable actor/actress, in my mind, for the series).  Hawt!

QuoteThe lead character - who will be female, and likely either black or Hispanic - will be "on a journey that's going to teach her how to get along with others in the galaxy," Fuller's revealed. "For her to truly understand something that is alien, she has to first understand herself."

And in a Trek first, the lead character will not be the ship's captain, but the Discovery's lieutenant commander - joined by an ensemble of roughly seven main characters.

In casting the lead role, Fuller said he's seeking an actress who embodies "strength, sensitivity and an amusing neurosis that goes with exploring space, which is extraordinarily dangerous and has the potential to be terrifying."

QuoteDiscovery being set a decade prior to Kirk's five-year mission.

Innocent Blood
A campy vampire x mob movie crossover by John Landis. On Comet TV, a second showing is on now if you want to catch this funny movie.
Comet TV shows their "Saturday Night Special" movie twice if you miss it the first time. I think Meteor Man is coming up next week.

The Hateful Eight

Damn...that was one good flick! `Course, I`m a big KR and SLJ fan, even if not a big Tarantino fan. And O M G  JJL was amazing!
