That's actually a pretty cool picture, littchris. You could be a tattoo artist for sure. I think I'm going to print it out and hang it on my wall for a few weeks because it is so cool. Thanks, yo.

What could anyone possibly do with their lives that would be more meaningful than videogames and photoshopping Pugs?

I have been searching for the meaning of life now for seven reincarnations, my life path is a 11 (yeah baby...) and in all my time incarnating on this planet and nearly reaching Nirvana I have found nothing- I repeat- NOTHING that beats a good videogame and/or photoshopped pug.

But wait...IF I could possibly find a videogame ABOUT photoshopping pugs I MIGHT finally reach ascension, become an ascended Master and not have to incarnate on this high gravity , Prison Planet to be a slave to our Reptilian Overlords.

Take THAT Pindar!!!!!

If anyone has ever wondered if Noory is bsing about the " huge " number of listeners he has ( which is a crock ) I've found this.

From the Arbitron ratings.

Coast to Coast AM    Paranormal talk    Overnights    3.25+

That's number of million listeners.
Michael Savage and several other talk show hosts get about the same number of listeners.
Rush gets 14 million.
At his height, Art had 10-15 million listeners and over 500 stations.
So much for another lie by Noory that he's getting more and more listeners all the time.
They've been leaving him in droves since Art left and probably continue to do so.
More stations does not necessarily mean more listeners.

I have witnessed so many numbers thrown around its amazing.

I have seen articles claiming that Art bell had 20 Million listeners (and more)- The Washington Times, Hustler and several other article I have read have given very different numbers so I am not entirely sure any of them are totally accurate especially considering that they vary greatly.

I would THINK (this is my own esteemed opinion) that Art had a far larger audience on less stations than Noory who has a smaller audience on more stations- But I would imagine it has little to do with quality or lack thereof- And far more to do with the fact that most of the folks I knew who listened to late night AM radio now get their 'talk from online (even if they still listen t Coast)

Back when Art was at his peak which was (imho) the mid 1990s- I HAD to tune in to at least set up a tape recorder or that broadcast was gone for good (or I would have to buy one of the ridiculousltyy expensive Tapes). There was no You Tube, no MP3s (WAV files were HUGE)  and dial up internet was slow as fuck (but had far more charm)-

So compring listenership is rough. If we had the tech in the 1990s as we do today, how many would be listening to Art "live" when the next day you could download (or just go to youtube) a commercial free version? How many would be scanning the AM dials at 3AM from boredom and even come upon these topics...Less, I would think. Far less since we have the World at our fingertips these days.

In other words, quality aside- The times make a huge difference in the numbers. The same way ABC, CBS and NBC were spanked by cable and had to split their audience with a million new channels- Thae same kind of happened here with the late night "monopoly" of C2C.

And I'm not mean to Noory, I'm acerbic and do it in a somewhat vague manner as well.

(actually, apparently Nov. 5-- Guy Fawkes Day-- evolved from one of those thanksgiving festivals), a

Not exactly; it is to commemorate the attempted assassination of James the 1st, by a catholic rebellion. Led by Guy Fawkes, who wanted to depose the protestant king and replace him with a catholic monarch, circa 1605. About 15 or so years before the origins of Thanksgiving.

I got those figures from the Time magazine article recently on Art's return, Talkers Radio Magazine and the Arbitron ratings itself.

There is also a post that says that Art had over 500+ stations at the height of his popularity. I have at least one program on my Imac where he mentions getting yet another new station and that happened with almost every broadcast. You don't hear that with Noory. In fact, he and Premiere have lost stations across the country.

When Art was on the air, the ratings for overnight shows weren't being tallied. Arbitron didn't start doing them until around 2009, too late to affect Art but I suspect the figures are probably accurate if they came from Time since they interviewed Art at his home.
Of course, we could always ask Art, couldn't we ?

I was just startled by the crash of a glass lamp table next to my couch. The 4 hardbacks on it and the Halloween cat cookie jar seen in one of my videos went flying to the floor. Scared the hell out of me and my Fuzzy Cat too. She's now sleeping in front of my easy chair a lot and now lets me hold her without wiggling out of my arms. She's finally being a cuddly little baby cat.
Broke the cats tail off, luckily I was able to fix it with Crazy Glue. The cookie jar is kind of unique. A local antique dealer here spent several days trying to find out what company made it without success. And she at one time had 300 cookie jars in her collection. I'm glad it didn't break into a million pieces. I moved it to a somewhat more secure location. I never thought that table would just tilt on its own as it had sat there for several months. I guess you can't put any weight on such things. More fragile than they look. I've never seen a cookie jar like it and I would like to find another one. I'm glad it wasn't destroyed.

Comet ISON: http://www.isoncampaign.org/karl/schroedingers-comet  Just some thoughts on this story.

"After impressing us yesterday, comet ISON faded dramatically overnight, and left us with a comet with no apparent nucleus in the SOHO/LASCO C2 images. As the comet plunged through the solar atmosphere, and failed to put on a show in the SDO images, we understandably concluded that ISON had succumbed to its passage and died a fiery death. Except it didn't. Well, maybe..."

Uhmm...They put up the shields and turned off the engines, so the ship would be protected?

"Now, in the latest LASCO C3 images, we are seeing something beginning to gradually brighten up again. One could almost be forgiven for thinking that there's a comet in the images!"

"Then, what emerged from the Sun was a small but perhaps somewhat coherent nucleus, that has resumed emitting dust and gas for at least the time being. In essence, the tail is growing back, as Lovejoy's did."

Uhmm... Engine start to gradually pull away from the sun's corona after taking on some helium 3 to re-fuel their engines.

The quoted parts are from "Karl Battams of NASA's Comet ISON Observing Campaign blog"

Since they do not know what happened, and they are making speculative guesses, I figured I could speculate also. I have after all watched Star Trek. For those that question my credentials, I think I once stayed at a Holiday Inn Express. LoL.
