That presumes the will on Art's part, to wage a very expensive, potentially protracted, legal battle. I have significant doubts in that arena, as well.

I'll repeat what I said a few days ago based on a good number of years working with/around lawyers:

1) Put ten of them in a room and ask them to give a legal position, you'll get ten answers unless one or more of them is/are in that room with their boss.

2) Attorneys get really defensive when challenged by non-attorneys.

And one more I opted not to add then so as not to run off our learned friends:

3)  Engineers scare the shit out of them.

No it is not weird.   I put hot sauce on nearly everything I eat.  Have you ever tried "Dave's Insanity Sauce" (no not that Dave)?  It is supposed to be the hottest sauce ever made.  Just a sample on toothpick made me drink about 1 gallon of water.

I worked in a mainly criminal law practice for 7 years, but I'm no lawyer.  I'm going mostly by what has been posted here in the last few days by several attorneys.  Surmo states he has taken in Art's case and is now guiding him into whatever comes next.

I do know I've read that Sirius/XM have headquarters in both D.C. and NYC, so that's a consideration as to what jurisdiction would be considered relevant. As to how they decide all that, I don't know.

This thread is such a dragon that I can't sum up all I've read, but I can say that I've seen a lot of positive surmising from folks who seem to know what they're talking about.

And, yes, FTF, it definitely does all depend initially on Art's willingness to take this on, but his latest words (before today's cease and desist post) have indicated that he will.

Well hopefully it is governed out of NY because the No Compete laws there were changed in favor of the broadcaster and No Compete clauses over 6 months are hard to enforce...or so I read.

A lot of it depends on the yarn that they use. For instance, Peruvian Highland wool is my favorite for a reason -- it's just the right softness and weight. However, it's kind of expensive. You need a lot of yarn for a blanket. Therefore, you usually stick to the cheap acrylic stuff.

Art is, in no way, responsible for the actions of a few fans upset by his quitting. I suspect he is sincerely touched by the outpouring of support, but finds it all a bit over-the-top.

Does anybody actually believe Art Bell, a man who once held millions of listeners on the edge of their seats, throughout the night, on hundreds of radio stations, will suddenly be content with, what amounts to, a  nightly podcast?

I can say that a podcast becomes profitable with a small percentage of what a radio broadcast costs. I heard one host on SiriusXM, that got the boot, who started a live stream and seems to be making it work. And that host can't shine Bell's shoes.

I don't own a crystal ball that actually works. But I would guess, Art could make it work.

I am not tethered to his returning but I am certainly interested in that outcome.

I don't see the motivation to keep pissing on any potential of him returning. If one isn't interested in that, why keep posting?
