We were all willing to pay $7 a month, $15 dollars a month or more to listen to Art.
We no longer have that opportunity, no doubt largely in part to secret backroom deals.

On the other hand Art says, when he is able to stream, he will stream free.
I dont think he should stream free, but thats a different issue.

I think, the CPAs and lawyers among us should establish an Art Bell Legal Defence Fund to reduce Arts overt legal costs.
I would prefer to pay on a monthly basis - 15 or 20- dollars a month...just as I would have done to listen to him...to "support" him at this time.
Its not enough to say Art has money he can do it -- PHOOEY that!

Further, we should produce bumper stickers / T shirts and hoodies with the "Free Art Bell"  "logo".
Im sure the grahics designers among us can come up with some good humorous designs.
Maybe an Andy Warhol parody of Art Bell...Or a 60s political prisoner parody- with a cow being abducted by a UFO in back!
Whatever...Im no artist.
Those should be sold, with proceeds going to the fund.

Everything Rossy does is a classic. Hits it out of the park.

Interesting that after only a couple of weeks, this thread has more than one-third the number of pages as the long-running Noory sucks thread.

It would appear that however one feels about the last two months, our interest in Art outweighs by a landslide anything Noory could ever do.

I agree, if you really want to help him, put your money where your mouth is and set up a Kickstarter account for either his legal battles, startup costs or both.

It wasn't childish. It was a grassroots campaign like many others. Come on here   We aren't calling for nuclear nonproliferation. We're calling for the removal of a radio host's non compete. The campaign matched the tone of the people here and the end goal. Nothing to be ashamed of.

I had misinterpreted it as one being about me and not about someone else. For that my apologies.

I know Noory's watched my videos and it could be said that his opinion of ME as a video creator probably isn't too much different than that of the poster whom he insulted.

While I was typing this the same poster got an inbox from the boorish $nooremaster as well, where the $noore insulted him.

That page has more than a million and a half views, there are pictures and videos of the man all over the internet making fun of the guy and posters who tell stories of the latest idiotic things he says both on and off the air and on his website and HE has the gall to call posters a fool and a jerk and sends another poster an email calling him an asshole ?
Who's the real jerk and asshole here ?
While I have had my detractors over the years, no one is devoting hundreds of pages to calling ME a fool, are they ?
Nor do they post pictures and videos ridiculing me.

And in the weeks succeeding Art leaving his Dark Matter show, I've gotten dozens of people to either watch my videos, like me on Facebook or following me on Twitter.

Are they also fools and jerks for liking the efforts of someone who tells the TRUTH about your public pronouncements ?
Are they fools for posting or repeating what you've said on your program for years and showing you to be the fool and an incompetent and unprepared broadcaster and the basis for daily ridicule ?

At one time I took dramatic classes at an institution that has become a major place for dancers, actors and muscians. I went there for around 2 years or so, maybe more, I'd have to ask my Mother for the details, she has a memory that's uncanny; its her body that's failing.

It's the Pittsburgh Playhouse on 222 Craft Avenue in Pittsburgh.

It's one of the few addresses I know by heart because it was across the street from Magee Hospital where I was born and was on the way to the Blvd of the Allies and Joe Hammer Square which was a short street that ran into the boulevard. At one time we moved to a street right across from the Sea Breeze company and I'd walk by it when I'd go to the Playhouse, Isaly's on Forbes Avenue or the Blvd. Sea Breeze is now owned by a Japanese company but it used to be an American family owned business.

I used to walk home everyday and go there to do my hours of training and watching and listening to my mentors and got good enough as a child actor that I was up for a part on Broadway in a major production.
I got discouraged and quit because of the guy who was just ahead of me and got picked for the part. There were also other reasons for my quitting as well which I won't address here.

Old time Pittsburghers might remember that way back when people used to eat saltstick bread. The Playhouse would have it, soda and drinks for all the actors and crew when we came in every day. I got to love the things and would nibble off the caraway seeds before I ate the kosher salt and the bread.

I've acted on stage, George and have been an extra in tv shows as well so I must have had some small modicum of talent at one time to be chosen for roles and to be hired to work on camera, even though, like all extras, we're seldom noticed.

And I was a guest on Bob Wilkin's show Creature Features where such luminaries as Christopher Lee, George Takei, William Shatner have appeared. For years, people would see me on the street and say :

" I saw YOU on Creature Features ! "

Wilkins would show incredibly bad horror movies every show but we knew they were bad and watched the show for him and his commentary.

In talking to someone who worked on Bob's show, I found that way back then the video tapes used for the show were incredibly expensive and the stations would re-use them and it was only because of Bob saving some shows on tape that the fans can see any of the shows today.

If it weren't for that, there would be a visual record of my appearance, though I know it was listed at one time in the tv section of the SF Chronicle when I appeared. I was appearing on behalf of a local Star Trek group that later held 2 mini Star Trek conventions one in San Francisco and one in Oakland. This was back in the 1970s.

SALT STICKS

    2 packages dry yeast
    1 cup warm water
    1/2 cup evaporated milk
    1/4 cup sugar
    3 tablespoons butter or margarine
    3 1/2 cups flour, or more
    1 egg white
    Coarse salt

2 tablespoons caraway seeds, optional

In a large mixing bowl, combine the yeast and warm water and let stand until the yeast is dissolved.

Add the evaporated milk, sugar and butter and mix about 1 minute. Gradually add the flour, about 1/2 cup at a time, until the dough is not sticky.

Knead about 8 minutes or use a dough hook with mixer set on medium until the dough is smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise until doubled.

Divide dough into four balls. Roll each ball into a circle (about 9 to 10 inches). Cut each circle into 8 equal wedges (a pizza cutter works well). Roll up starting at wide end. Roll tight. Place on greased baking sheet. Brush with egg white. Sprinkle with coarse salt and caraway seeds, if desired. Let rise 30 minutes.

Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden.

Makes 32.
