Wow. "Not a viable situation going forward" if they don't approve this. Interesting. What does that mean?
Not sure, discussing that too, a little worried on both sides of the coin there!

Well he did say he "was going all in". You do that in poker when you think you have a winning hand and prefer the other player folds... if not the cards are laid on the table and one loses.

lol I wonder if the ghost photo winner is happy that the day they get a new radio and a year subscription Art announces that he will try to get the show streaming live through artbell.com

What did he mean that if they say 'no' they may not have a viable situation (option)?  I forget exactly how he said it...

yeah, i noticed that statement with more gravity than any other part.  that's a threat, for sure.

Is all the online streaming crashing their servers? He said something about people streaming from England. So if Art streams from his site it will take the load off Sirius?

totally!! Arts site is gonna crash!!

I would be very surprised if Sirius agrees to this.

And I wonder what Art meant when he said, "If not, we may not have a viable situation."  Announcing this prior to Sirius agreeing to do it is odd...

Poker?--All in

Theres a cold handshake with every shady deal.

I listen to a pirate stream because the pirate stream is more reliable.

isn't that pathetic?  sirius/xm is such a piss poor company.  i hear opie and anthony complain about it all the time.

Whoohoooo!
Art has asked Sirius for free live streaming for everyone!
Not what I was expecting, but still very cool news.
I hope that Sirius agrees.

Thank you, Art!

Boy, I hope so too.

Makes you wonder how reliable streaming from Artbell.com would be. I'm keeping Sirius and am having no issues streaming to my iPad and computer.

actually, it was pretty close to my terrestrial radio suggestion, since it means general availability of the show.  same difference, whether it's the net or air.
Do you think there's a chance of a Sirius/terrestrial simulcast? Art would be the perfect one to test such a thing.

littlechris

I respect Siriusxm BIG BIG time if they allow Artie to do this!!!

Not sure If I would way they are a piss poor company, it seems like they don't have the web horse power to stream live?

Desmond

I think he realizes the demand is there and the net is available so perhaps it is an ultimatum to Sirius, or else it's Podcast City with streaming through AB.com.  He may feel he is more important to Sirius than Sirius is to his show.

me, too.  the company has the marketing genius of a mayfly.

I have faith in Art, but I'm really worried about this. Maybe it's just 'cause I'm the worrying type. The "no viable path forward" line was the scariest part of the ghost show.

same here, im gonna keep sirius until Arties site can be dependable for a couple months at least.

It very much sounded to me like he was either going to stream for free, or he was quitting... Are you effing kidding me?!?!

My hope is that he announced that on the air to push Sirius to stream it for free, and isn't really planning on quitting... That's my hope anyways... Now I'm worried.  :-\

For the record... I stream Sirius on 5 different devices (including two PCs) and I have never once had a problem on any of them...

Like Art aid, this is a caller driven show... you just aren't going to get the same quality and variety of calls with the limited satellite radio base... no one from Area 51 is listening to satellite radio at work and that call never would have happened. The show needs new blood, not us groupies who are Bill-in-West-Hartfording over and over.

Wow- this would be really cool - both at same time

I know I never would have signed up for Sirius if Art had not been added.  They better think long and hard about what saying No might do to their finances.

I think it means that Art is playing poker with SiriusXM right now.  Will they call, or fold?   When he mentioned the announcement last night, it certainly sounded like it was a fait accompli, and I believe Art thought that it was.  But now he won't know until Monday.

If Art wins this hand, it really could be a C2C killer.  Yes, universe, this must happen.  Are you listening?

I too find that verbiage a little worrying...
Dang! Now I'll be worried the whole weekend.

I'm hoping that "all in" doesn't mean that if Sirius says no, he's moving back to the Phillipines.  It's late, and I'm tired.   Probably why I'm thinking negatively.  :(

Called it.

I wish i could say I did, but I didn't. I just hear the show without the huge streaming delay and typed that just after Art said it.

Art probably knows enough military types to get his own satellite and wind up competing with Sirius.
