I once watched the Holy Grail dubbed into Japanese, with subtititles re-translated from the dub back into English.  It warped the language it such a way to make it even funnier.

OH MAN... would LOVE to see that!!!

I've always avoided trying to contact the hungry realm of ghosts.   They are there I'm sure. And, always up to no good.

I personally am sure of it.  And I'm the scientific athiest-prone type.  My vivid experiences on the ouija board shook me that much.

So... anybody have any Hallowe'en superstitions?

Have to admit, the night before and from dark tonight to first light tomorrow we have jack-o'lanterns lit.  Heard the stories as a kid, and just feel safer having them lit during the darkness.

...though I leave for work by 0630 and here in NE Ohio it's still pitch black outside

When I was about 19 years old, (1975), my girlfriend's mother pulled one out of a closet and wanted to use it with us.  She was quite insistent for some reason.  I was somewhat apprehensive as even way back then I had heard of some weird shit going on and wasn't keen on the idea.

Long story short, we did it anyway.  Asked a few generic things, nothing I can really remember except I do remember asking how old would I be when I die.  The answer was 56.  I thought that was ancient at that time and remember thinking "Cool, I'll get to live to see the year 2000."  Never messed with board again and would never touch one, just got a really bad vibe from it.

As long ago as this was, I was still a bit apprehensive to make it through 2012 and until my 57th birthday in 2013.

Thanks for the reply, very interesting.  In my group of high school friends we had one guy who the board seemed to pick on, and make all kinds of gloomy predictions about, but none of them ever came true, so I think they were just messing with him.

HOLY!!!!  A full dresser moved without anyone touching it??!!!??!!

Would that be a wooden dresser or a cross type? If a cross type I wouldn't touch it either.

Guys maybe it's the scotch talking, but it just feels so right to be here with Art on Halloween.  I have a vague thought of some other show with some other guy, but it is receding into the shadows, like a ghoul retreating into the darkness beyond.

Not the Scotch, I feel the same...  and the ghoul doesn't smell of sulfur, he smells of Turmeric

Friggin hysterical.  The only line I kind of remember was the "Go away or I'll taunt you some more" which was translated into something like "You must depart this place now or unfortunately I may once again disrespect you."

Best Halloween in recent memory. I usually couldn't care less about this "holiday". But annual spooky matters would certainly change things  :)

Seriously I need to see this.  I saw one of the earliest Hebrew dubbings - "Your mother couldn't cook, and your father's farts smell like cherries"

halloween is the best holiday
Because it's when the chocolate easter bunny was resurrected, or died, can't remember which.

Amazingly, the Yiddish dubbing I've seen the whole "help help I'm being repressed" scene translates perfectly LOL

The ghoul never retreats very far.  He was logged onto BellGab at 08:56:46 PM tonight.  He must know he doesn't have to log in to lurk here, which makes me think he still wants us to KNOW he's been here...spying...creeping around.

He needs attention badly. Kinda sad really.
