I was referring to CaravanToMignight.  Their programs come in both audio and video format.  If it was just audio, I wouldn't subscribe. I like to see the host and guests on video.

Personally I'm with Grav on this.  The whole joy of radio to me is the mindscapes allowed because your vision isn't monopolized like with tv.  However I don't care as long as it's ignorable, like Art's short-lived Periscope phenomenon was.

akwilly, I'm an EODR fan looking forward to hearing more of Myke in podcast form.  I enjoyed the Gabcast we did together so hopefully I can sit in on the new show when it makes sense.  I look forward to Daniel's show too and will tune in when it goes live.

Hmm I have to admit, that is a good point.

There 100% will be some video. However it will likely be more performance art style stuff. Such as me trying to fight a Sasquatch or teach a Grey Alien how to drive.

I use a cell data plan. I get it that most people have broadband internet. I don't.
That being said, I won't download shows even when connected to wifi if the bit rate encoding causes the podcast to be more than 10-12mb per hour. 64kpbs is more than enough for talk and most music.  There is no way to increase the storage on an iPad or iPhone. Offer an itunes or apple-compatible podcast. I won't watch or even listen to a show on youtube.

I tried EODR a couple of times and the vulgarity turned me off.
Falkie and chefist type rants are a non-starter for me. I get it that some people like to hear a train wreck. I'll pass.

I wouldn't make it bellgab centric. Pick subjects and topics that interest you. It is always easier to listen to the show when the host is engaged and knowledgeable on the topics. Find a common thread or two that you can have at least parts of each show revolve around. Announce the guests ahead of time. Don't wait until the last minute like some of these other shows seem want to do.

Have fun with it and don't take yourself seriously. 90 minutes is probably more than enough if you want to have a following.

Create a twitter hashtag like #dmtalk or #amytalk to allow fans to send you tweets during the show.

I don't now if you plan on using something like icecast, but a dial in to listen line (VOIP) is the way I prefer to listen. From what I understand those lines are free. PrairieGhost can tell you what he had to do to set the one up for DTRN.

Take all of that with a grain of salt. I'm just one person and pretty picky about which shows I listen to live or in a podcast. Pick which of those ideas you are comfortable with and leave the rest.

Yeah I don't like four letter words being used very often. I'm not in complete opposition to  4 letter words. Other words usually work better though and if one feels the need to use a 4 letter word, use it when you are really really irritated with something.  The word loses its punch if used too often.    I think they are better than saying goddamn or Jesus Christ in vain.

I'm generally against the vulgarization of the language but some moments call for a 4 letter word.
