Heh.  “Amy at Applebees.”  I’m fairly certain I’ve never been in an Applebees. Are they what I hear, where most of their menu is packaged in some warehouse and then just microwaved or heated in some manner, prior to being plopped on a plate?

"Its all good in the neighborhood." They advertise incessantly promoting home delivery in these Corona-Chan times. If true I wonder if they just drop-shit from the warehouse to your door and cut out the physical footprint of the restaurant and furlough the unnecessary staff? I've been to an Applebees once. It was as you'd expect. I didn't have food and only hit the bar for a few beers since it only place open in a small town that I could see.

I'd like to take K_Dubb to "Pancho's" and watch him witness what an all-u-can-eat Mexican place entails and some of the size of people drawn to such a place.

I think that is how most chains of that type are run.  I know Olive Garden works that way since my little cousin is a bartender there, and tells me the horrors.

In a previous life I worked at a franchise-owned unit of a well-known pancake house restaurant chain. I saw with my own horrified eyes the ingress of the "commissary system" as we went from scratch-prepared to frozen, canned and bagged "cooking."

I imagine all the large chains do that now.
