I think the great majority of those of us who possess a functioning cerebral cortex have figured out more than enough of what happened to enable us all to go on with our lives with some measure of contentment.

Hoagland's show continues to deliver, Ms. Wade actually is improving, and Bell has admitted he's thinking about coming back. I don't know what the people still complaining are thinking--the man is seventy, has a chronic spinal injury, and a family a third of his age. We're lucky he can still fucking walk. Of course he's training a replacement: duh.

Everything is fine. Here's what I think: Bell should be doing a metric shit-ton of offline interviews with as many classic guests as he can lasso in place, for future play, because I no longer give two farts in a whirlwind for what random callers have to say. Perhaps one in ten of them ends up being worth sitting through. Maybe.

... I think Art quit because he realised it was a mistake and it wasn't as fun as he had hoped. I think a large part of his audience felt the same way, so I'm not disappointed. I am only disappointed that he couldn't treat his audience like adults.

In the past few years he's done this not once, but twice, and hasn't ruled out a third time.

The thing about the way some 'rock stars', 'divas', and moody 'movie stars' act is they know they are huge money makers for everyone around them, and no one else can do what they do.  The people who work with them simply have to put up with it.

Art Bell may have once been the best at what he does, but at his height he had 3 million listeners per night (15 million cumulative for a 5 day week).  Not exactly rock star territory.

Of those 3 million, I wonder how many are still around, and of those who listened while working night shifts still have that same schedule.  How many of the truckers are still doing that.  I wonder how many of the rest are still interested in the paranormal.

He's still doing the same stuff and MO,  IMHO...dangling those proverbial carrots, playing semantics, cryptic message/innuendos... always seeming to be a victim of something or someone, even himself etc.

The way I see it is, if Art truly wanted to be behind the mic, he would be....he would find a way without all the BS he has shoveled our way since the early 2000's.

Sad to say that it seems to me that Art loves the Art Bell drama he creates more than he actually loves radio.

Please accept my resignation as Campaign Manager and your spokesperson in the colonies. The ink will not dry on your long form birth certificate, and you continue to alienate a large portion of your base by using words like fucknozzled.
