In response to all of you who breathe heavily through the mouth when confronted with anything that goes on for more than two paragraphs, I have decided to write a brief executive summary/review of the partial-birth abortion GabCast the other night:

'While MV and Art were passionately slow-dancing around the room, they ignored the elephant that was busily shitting all over the carpet.'

I don't think it's only diaper dollars that will be needed from now on, but mouthwash money to sluice out the taste.

I never get tired of the dead horse parallel. Perhaps those people who trot it out on every occasion ought to bear that in mind if they come home from vacation one day to find a bunch of strangers living in their house. 'Oh, it's a done deal, let's just move on'. Bollocks.

I said shorten it, not deaden it you louse-ridden ferret head. How am I supposed to un and effective campaign and be your spokesperson in the colonies if you refuse to kiss a few ugly babies while on the stump?  Jesus man. Ever since Yorkshire Pud has made it back to your flat, you have been atrocious. Go shave and comb your hair. The press photographers are due there soon. I know this discussion annoys you, and I respect you arguing your case. As I said before, I don't believe that anything I say is going to affect anything in the real world, and I don't intend it to. If you believe I am taking any of this seriously, then I am here to tell you that that is not the case. I wrote that post yesterday as a way of livening things up really, because I don't enjoy consensus all that much. The show had its merits, but there were also big holes and I pointed them out. Sometimes I think that I am one of the few people who says what a lot of people think but don't like to say publicly, even with the anonymity of the forum. They know they will be attacked, and don't like it. I enjoy people taking me on, so I don't mind. That's another reason I will criticise Art and Heather - because I don't mind getting it back in turn. If people are good at it, then I can have some fun; if they are dull and abusive, then I ignore them. That's all. I think most of my comments have been fairly mild, too, if slightly mischievous at times because this is a public forum.

Places like this are all about opinions. I am not going to insist my view is correct. Sometimes there is an underlying assumption about a few of your posts that there are 'no go' areas, that it is impolite to venture on. If something is 'dead' then people stop talking about it. It's a law of nature, almost. It's like those people who complain about 'thread-derailing'. If something is interesting, then people talk about it. If they don't, they don't. That's all.

Now this is more like it. I can work with this one.

I want to hear him on, I actually looked into the conspiracy of RCH and the missing faces and there is a large amount of evidence in Gary's favor, just that he is so intense most of it gets lost in translation. For instance, he interviewed two of the producers who worked on that UFO diaries show and they both say Hoagie was on the set in person, and remember him being "a real asshole".  Prepare to get blacklisted by RCH if you ever have him on too.

I listened live to Gary's Michael Vara-show rant (and posted about the brain seizure I was suffering due to it) and it shocked me that Vara seemed to be following every word...  Now, maybe it was an act to appease Hoagie's stalker.

I think a "pay or don't call" (like AB's "bring me the gold" deal with Ed Dames) would be completely justifiable.

I don't quite understand wtf he's ranting about but I believe it has something to do with Hoagie holding onto some Cydonia pics with faces.  Newsflash -- where do you think Hoagie got them in the first place.  Try NASA man.

I think this is the summary I was looking for. I just think it odd that Hoagland would be considered a disinformation agent working for NASA.

Against my better judgment, I read through that rambling article and did a little searching around to see what the hell Hoagland's stalker is on about. I was nearly blinded by the absolute batshit craziness that I saw. Here is what I found:

1. His name is Gary and at one time he was a collaborator with Hoagland that identified some kind of code hidden in Cydonia. Hoagland asked him to keep researching this secret code and he did. This is presumably the work he did for Hoagland that was mentioned.

2. At some point, Gary saw secret images that Hoagland has of other faces on Mars. Gary had no idea why Hoagland wouldn't show these images to the public, so he apparently concluded that Hoagland was a Soviet Spy and was stealing the images from NASA and selling them to the Russians.

3. Someone from the future, using the content of the Cydonia code, has appointed Gary to thwart Hoagland's nefarious plot, whatever that might be.

So yeah, gnaw on that. Hoagland has a conspiracy theory attached to him and someone on this earth actually believes that he's a Russian spy. You can't make this shit up.

Art has a history of making momentous decisions impulsively and trying to shore them up later.  He pretty much admitted this with his quitting announcement.  I am sure both he and Heather know her selection was a matter of convenience.  But I don't for a minute expect Art to say so while she is still trying to make a go of it.

A 'polite fiction' is telling your wife she looks good in that dress (rather than a hippo wrapped in a curtain), or telling some moron that you love their posts (guilty!). If you are going to tell a fib, best to make it believable, or you risk making both yourself, and the person you are trying to support, look ridiculous. If she was his first choice, Art is either a) insane, or b) lying.

The code of silence you perceive (somewhere other than here, surely!) is the courtesy given someone trying to make the best of a shitty situation.  That's all.

Being 'well compensated' for doing a job that you haven't gained any experience in, or qualified for, doesn't sound all that rough to me. Being polite is one thing, but people are overdoing it and it's toppling over into irony now.

It's even more batshit crazy if you consider that many of the photos Hoagland shows as glass domes and remnants of ancient civilizations on the moon and Mars have been doctored by him. So we have a guy who worked with Hoagland and believed Hoagland a little too much. I guess that's what Hoagland gets for it. Seems like justice to me. Hoagland has been out batshited.

Well now Hoagland works for NASA, is a disinformation agent, owns DMDN (Dark Mission/Dark Matter Don't you get it?) and is using his ownership of DMDN to censor the content and to have a disinformation campaign, Art only came back for a couple of months to help Hoagland build his evil empire, MV wouldn't let him talk on the GabCast because he is still jealous they offered a slot to Vara instead of MV and if you don't believe him, just smoke a big bowl of whatever he smokes and you will see the truth. Really.

Vara is not far behind him the the looney tune line.

If Art's choosing Heather was one of those impulsive decisions for which he's famous, I expect him to maintain his public support of her (she was his first choice, she's doing a good job) indefinitely, or at least until he decides that position is no longer tenable.  Anyone who has spent half a minute in business should be familiar with this.  You back the horse you're running until you decide you don't.

Rather than ironic levels of support here, I see a lot of people continually backslapping each other for identifying the gulf between Art's public statements of support and Heather's performance as though this marks them out as more perceptive than the rest of us.  Instead, it's like kids who discovered Santa doesn't exist.

I wonder if Art's belief that a rank amateur has a shot at his job means that, to him, doing the show is just guest selection and preparation and that his magic on-air persona we all love is really him, instead of the carefully honed product of decades of broadcasting.  It's as though he really believes all you have to do is turn the mic on and talk.
