Rewound the show and listening now..did George really text Richard while he was on the air?

Yeah, pretty funny.

Missed this the first time around: "Hitchcock's rest of the story"

I think hoagster meant Paul Harvey.

I was going to listen to this tomorrow, but I couldn't sleep. You guys aren't kidding, this is amazing.

e: "Don't explain to me what a dome is again." Ahahaha.

I want to know what Hoagland smokes, where to buy that crazy shit, and what kind of hair conditioner he uses.

Complete with torsion field.   ;)

Sound's like Art's getting a little tired of having to interrupt Hoagy -  I mean even when Art's agreeing with him, he goes into "No, no no, wait...wait...but...but..."

This Edgar Mitchell stuff is kinda fascinating....I knew he had claimed about certain knowledge of "aliens" but, NEVER knew he had such a hard time "remembering" his experiences on the moon. --HAHAHA- the George Snooray Text Message! - WOW! what a wanker!

AWESOME - I think Art just visited my re-stream - unless there's someone else in Pahrump, NV listening - my map showed this >> http://imgur.com/41qSbPe

I have to agree with Hoagland in regards to two things. The object in the ninth photo doesn't look like an ordinary rock. Like he and Art say, it's extremely odd that the Apollo astronauts have what seems to be amnesia when attempting to remember how they felt when they were on the moon. By the way, NASA just announced that the Mars rover found no signs of methane (insert your own joke), indicative of life, on the Red Planet, so that could be fodder for a future Dark Matter with RH.

Doubtful. Lets look at the odds. 40,000(?) people live in Pahrump. And I highly doubt he would be listening to an illegal stream of his own show when its his show and he can listen to it whenever he likes, legally. Thats like wanting to go for a drive, and instead of driving your Mercedes, you go and steal the beater down the block.

Ah - Never really knew the population of Pahrump...Barring the "streaming legalities"  Eh, he doesn't appear to sound like he minds, as in he could have just been browsing to see what folks are doing.  Never know!!! - I'm gonna say it's him  ::) :P   - Oh well I can dream can't I !

Hoagland was much more enjoyable and entertaining on Dark Matter than he was on Coast, and the former program's host was largely responsible. Art and George bring some of your old university professors to mind. They teach identical subjects, but one guy is incredibly boring, so you lose your fascination with the subject while the other guy brings the topic to life in such a way that you think about changing your major. It's all in the presentation.

You know, I wonder how many other little comments that only they got from talking back and forth off air there were. I kind of got the feeling they were passing eachother private jokes at various points.
I think it is possible and I started wondering about RCH having his radio on after the commercial break.  Either it was to show Dave (or others) that he really did subscribe, or it was a joke on Art.  During the break he would either be talking with Art or doing something else... I cannot imagine that he just decided to turn the radio on to catch the commercials they were playing...

"They're more likely to find a slot machine." -Art

Hilarious.

coaster

I think his radio was on because he just really likes to hear himself talk.

Inside an enigma, inside a freezer,......Art: slight laugh..Hoagy should have finished with, "with Pizza Rolls"

Take a shot every time Hoagland says the word data; die of alcohol poisoning by end of first hour.

What a great show. And coming here, soaking in the buzz and excitement. Couldn't have hoped for a better launch for Dark Matter.

The only **sliiiiight** disappointment was Art's announcement concerning the weekends, but I suppose that's better for newcomers. Still holding out hope that Knapp might fill a Sunday night slot.

I'm giving it some time, guessing as Art's numbers increase and Sirius see's his "value" then possible weekend shows will be changed up....

I am loving Art on satellite-way less commercials and more talk time. I am sold.

It's especially fun once you know that both C. Crane and Sirius once got in some difficulty with the FCC for accidentally selling FM transmitters which were slightly too juicy.  Another reason why I admire Bell, an excellent broadcast engineer and ham operator...and former pirate (as am I.)

It's wonderful that there's some provision for unlicensed broadcasting (under 'Part 15' of the FCC rules), and the C. Crane unit is a very good one that works as advertised.  In the US, however, the actual FM radiated power allowed is almost impossibly low, something like 0.01  microwatts.  So low, in fact, that it's really difficult to accurately measure and adjust the devices during manufacture.

The FCC really needs to open up additional opportunities for unlicensed, low power, hobby broadcasting in the US.  For instance, New Zealand allows 1/2 Watt FMs to operate unlicensed, and the place hasn't fallen into the ocean or subjected to lightning bolts from the Communication Gods due to this apparent radio impropriety.

Meantime, one must NEVER add 30" of wire to the antenna!  EVER!

We need to come up with a cool nickname for people that are listening to the night's show for the first time on the replay.

Boy Hoagland is in fine form. Taking some random incident and turning it into proof some weird story. Frog in a nasa photo equals some nasa conspiracy.
