I wonder if they are having any trouble getting guests? They used to be announced weeks ahead of time.

I highly doubt it. Linda Moulton Howe, for example, is scheduled for October. I'm sure they have a full plate until then, it just hasn't been posted yet.

That could be. Or, unlike all the other guests, Howe could be taking time to prepare for the show. She always seems to put a lot of work and effort into her appearances.

It's especially fun once you know that both C. Crane and Sirius once got in some difficulty with the FCC for accidentally selling FM transmitters which were slightly too juicy.  Another reason why I admire Bell, an excellent broadcast engineer and ham operator...and former pirate (as am I.)

It's wonderful that there's some provision for unlicensed broadcasting (under 'Part 15' of the FCC rules), and the C. Crane unit is a very good one that works as advertised.  In the US, however, the actual FM radiated power allowed is almost impossibly low, something like 0.01  microwatts.  So low, in fact, that it's really difficult to accurately measure and adjust the devices during manufacture.

The FCC really needs to open up additional opportunities for unlicensed, low power, hobby broadcasting in the US.  For instance, New Zealand allows 1/2 Watt FMs to operate unlicensed, and the place hasn't fallen into the ocean or subjected to lightning bolts from the Communication Gods due to this apparent radio impropriety.

Meantime, one must NEVER add 30" of wire to the antenna!  EVER!
I'm thinking of getting one of these to broadcast Dark Matter to all my FM devices for whole house listening.   Now, thanks to your caution, I will never, never ever ever, attach 30" of wire to the antenna!    Thanks for that.   ;D

Georgie boy needs to keep out of Art's business. Someone is worried.....

It shows that George is scared. He is saying "Art is tough.... Come to me, I am easy on you. Stay away from him."

I like how Art took the high road and quickly moved past. He could have easily said "Nice to see George signed up for a Sirius account. Thanks for the $$$"

Also, careful Joorch.... You MIGHT learn something. I also wonder how he feels about the pizza roll comments.

It will take you out 15 miles, like back in the day when Art ran his pirate radio out of the AFB...

Offtopic, but the best ever TPB scene is when Bubs is getting high in the back of the car while ricky and julian are stealing meat. That being said,
last night was probably RCH's best appearance on radio. He should thank Art. Art made his bullshit entertaining.

area51drone

That was really funny, the packages they were using to steal the meat, and the transmitter that was broadcasting their conversation over the loudspeaker.   See, that's on topic.     I heard from a friend that more was being done.  Glad it is.. I just hope Corey and Trevor come back.

Indeed - Sorry - yeah got sucked into the shitnado there - and yes Corey and trever do return - you can watch making of bits and pieces right now on their site -

Art did indeed keep us entertained - which his little crack at pizza rolls was good too - when he said ITS called INTERVIEWING! - but i digress, glad the show's lived up to my expectations so far of what i figured it'd be.

I would have to say it's pretty much "Coast to Coast" as it used to be before the introduction of Noory... just called Dark Matter instead.   I am a little disappointed that he doesn't do open line calls when he takes them for guests...  Its almost always entertaining to just have the random factor, and 99% of the time the callers are on topic anyway.

I also wonder when his "do the wild thing" button will come into play..  Can't wait to hear that!

HA, love that there's no Greer replay.

It seems like the logical cut. Everyone was complaining about his motormouth... even Art  ;D

He is probably estatic he got a mention on Art Bell's new show, and perhaps his pizza roll legend will grow to mythical proportions. He thinks he has his own super glued lips story here.

GIS!  Brain-gasm!!!!!!!!!!!  Woo Hoo!!!!!

Falkie2013

Who is GIS ?

I know the usual abbreviations and I looked on artbell.com and couldn't find any mention of this.

This pic from RCH got me thinking of blue quartz.
I'm not well versed in minerals or if there even is quartz on mars. Maybe the Bellgab science advisers (Astro or Bob) might be so kind to chime in here.
RCH likes to follow these wild speculation trails and create controversy when he should look for simple explanations. His beard should be shaved by an Ockham's Razor.

EDIT: I found this article on the filters they use on photos from Mars.

The Ghost Investigator Society.
They do EVP's.  Electronic Voice Phenomenon.
Some people believe these to  be ghost voices.

:(okay, i am just getting around to listening to last nights show with hoaxland.
entertaining enough, art could interview a turnip and i would still listen.
but REALLY, richard brings up michael hastings name as a reason their are no whistlblowers in NASA.
that pisses me off. and yes, i know pissed off is something i can't say on arts show.
but man, that was just the lowest i have ever heard the hoaxland stoop.

i am also really curious how art is scheduling his guests. is he bringing back some of the oldies, that no one wants to listen to anymore, just to prove that he can interview a turnip and make it interesting? (and he can).

sean david morton has informed the world that he will be the guest on october 1st.

i am looking forward to that, although i am just as surprised by it as all the other guests so far.

i wish he would interview some of the new voices.

henrick palmgren for one. hopefully we have PLENTY  of time.

is his producer just crunching numbers on what guest will be next, based on requests?
anyone know, or have a smart guess?

Looks like there are a few other fans of the mustard tiger around here.

Indeed they are filming new shows, but I doubt Cory and Trevor the alien will be in them. Can hope for the return of Jacob though. Easy on them cheeseburgers, inflatable elvis mah'fuckah!

And in the meantime watch out for the winds of shit.

Seeing How there is a local classic rock station running 50w on FM here( they are a rebroadcast from another city), and I can get them loud and clear 30 miles away. I have a feeling you can get 50-100 miles from that, with a good antenna.  ;)

SaucyRossy

Ugh I DESPISE Sean David Morton. Mainly because his voice and style is super annoying.
Where did he say that he would be on with art?

Could someone link me some more info on this adding a 30" wire to the end of the antenna, please?

Nah, thats Noory's staff that sets up the guest schedule weeks in advance.
Art Bell is more a last minute guy, though a few of the upcoming guests have announced at their own websites they are scheduled for Art's show in the near future.
GIS is one of them and Linda Howe is set for Thu 10/3

if you do a quick google search on the C.Crane FM Transmitter you will find other "tips" like a hidden pot adjustment to increase the output power...
FYI, the best price for the FM transmitter is from C.Crane's amazon.com listing - $55 with free shipping

Art posted a couple weeks ago on his facebook page that he is starting for the first 2 weeks with classic guests to get used to the new show.
After that he will include new first time guests too.
