and as far as the "free streams" go,  I've only been able to tally up something like at most 300 people at a time listening to various streams on shoutcast.  Chances are they will be fine as long as the numbers are low... and believe me WE ARE A NICHE of NICHES here.

Excellent suggestions all around. But if I may for just a second. I don't care who gets what stream from where... I really don't. My only concern, and it seems my concerns were unfounded, was not to bring any problems to MV.

I agree however, better to move all contentious talk to the "no holds barred" threads.

I hope some more live streams using SHOUTCAST pop up, they are the most versatile as opposed to the browser flash-based streams.
Shoutcast streams can be played not just on a PC, but on many media player devices including smart TVs, smart blu-ray players, and others...

I am sure there will be several. I am also fairly certain any "open" stream will be filled quickly.

I am already seeing torrents of the recent shows with seeders in the high 50's. Where as older shows are almost abandoned. I had one torrent running for more than 3 months and never finished.

there seems to be a lot of excitement right now... how long that lasts *shrugs*.

Someone that has the necessary experience with Shoutcast server / streaming on Windows 7 64bit - please contact me.  As my 'video' stream site has been shut down I'm going to go audio only - especially if I get my alternate site shut down.  PLEASE again - private message me here and get with me so I can try to figure this out for tomorrow evening's broadcast.

I'll be ok - I was just hoping someone with experience could get me a quick crash course on it - My normal stream is up and running for the night - and I've got a busy day tomorrow so I'm just not thinking i'll be available to get it ready in time for tomorrow or not. 

That being said, the stream I was using being shut down was a minor speed bump and it's back up like usual just a slightly "different" location =P

peeps will have to message me though for the password as I'll probably change it nightly - that way I can control it to a degree who's got it and watching/listening.  But yes shoutcast was my preferred method too, just that I haven't set one of those up in probably 6 years or longer and totally brain dumped how it's done.
