I'm not declaring anything other than that he said what he said, and it is clearly wrong.

And having said it, having campaigned in Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida in the Democratic primary in 2008 and Florida again in the general election 2008 and 2012 do you really think he is too stupid to know where each of these cities are located?  The Sardondi answer is an emphatic YES which thereby starts the conservative moebius strip of Obama's obvious mental deficiency I described earlier.
This is the best the con's have.  They hate him personally, they hate his policies (even though they seem as pro-wealth as any president we've had) and they will pillory him with the slightest of miscues to disqualify him from office.  Yet they can't field a candidate to do it straight up.

You know, the man continually betrays that he wasted his education, making gross factual and verifiable errors regarding everyday information which any American of his age and background would have at the fingertips, and which they would certainly realize instantaneously they had made and move to correct had they in fact made them and realized it...and somehow you've turned my pointing these errors out into an attack on me, brought on by my personal hatred of the man.

That's quite a trick. And quite an accusation. But then it feels like you've had a lot of practice at it. And why not? It's The Chicago Way to don the cloak of victimhood and attack oneself out of any embarrassing situation.

Oh - and you seriously assert that because a politician has been brought by his hermetically sealed campaign to a locale, where s/he is completely cut off from any but the merest glimpses of the outside world, that it means s/he necessarily knows a goddam thing about where s/he has been, is or is going? You simply cannot be that naive.

You don't have to go back to the campaign - he was actually in Jacksonville two or three days before his tonight show appearance.  I don't ascribe motive - stupidity, gaffe, simple blunder, not having his teleprompter - I'm just surprised that he rather frequently makes such mistakes.

I suggest that you might want to lower your prejudices towards conservatives and read what it actually said here.  I've learned to do that with them and with liberals and I think I understand better because of it.  We all tend to hear (and read) things through filters.

I've spent exactly one day in Chicago.  A friend took me to see the White Sox host the A's in 1995, not to a community organizing event.  If BHO was there, our paths didn't cross.
Yes I have been involved in campaigns; I was on the Obama team here in CT that beat Hillary (as a ground game person, not any kind of decision maker) on Super Tuesday when she basically swept the upper Northeast.  I know that candidates aren't "hermetically sealed" from their environs; they may be staffed but they know where they are and why they are there.
Furthermore, I've complimented GHW Bush on this site, I've offered little critique of GW Bush (in fact I wish him full recovery from his heart procedure). My biggest beef is with Ronald Reagan, Don Regan, James Baker, Jack Kemp, and the rest of the conservative illuminati who's very game was to villify liberals as child-like and anti-American.
Sardondi,  you do hate BHO though I genuinely don't understand why. You dislike his policies?  They're the "Chicago Way"? You act as if the man broke into your house, stole all of your possesions, and urinated on your floor on the way out!  What has he done to you to, as a human being, to generate the stream of caustic vitriol you pour out here daily?
I don't get it.  You're obviously smart as hell but seem to completely lack compassion - that speaks to some personal trauma, but I don't want to presume.
UFO Fill  - I get it and you're right.  I'm sorry but I hear too many right side (white) people who blurt out their hatred of this man on an almost unconscious level and blame him for every loss of status they've experienced.  I had a customer last night who, upon being asked for his ID to make his liquor purchase volunteered: "fucking NSA always wanting my information. Fucking Obamination" .  On my job, I have to smile and apologize.  Here, not so much.

I predict this IRS scandal will be the death of the Tea Party when we find out that this wasn't Obama, but the result of an internal conservative fundraising civil war. The cause of this war is the need to control money coming into a central source. Decentralization would hurt the right, not help it. One hundred and eight tea party groups collecting donations that your already established group could be collecting is bad news. If you are a local conservative representative and you don't agree with national party on an issue(immigration) they can threaten to take away your funding and reelection staff.

If you look at who stands to gain the most by targeting these applications, it is the big lobbyists on the right, not the left or normal Americans that support the Tea Party.

Exactly....it's all made up crap, just like the "Tea Party" itself. But Merkins just wanna hate black people anyway they can get away with it.

When you've lost The Atlantic, you've lost the "Old Left."
I didn't appreciate him taking shots at Snowden.  All of a sudden Obama, who has had his patriotism questioned, is going to question the love of country of Snowden and Manning?  Did these guys sell out this country or did they see some egregious overreach and call "bullshit"? Obama has got himself all caught up in the thrill of state secrets and espionage and has lost perspective.

I still use them out of habit, but "left" and "right" mean increasingly less and less today. "Statist" and "libertarian" are more apt I think, and cut across party lines as we see form the recent bizarre House vote on NSA authorization.

Quite so.  Unless, of course, just possibly (as the vast majority of informed scientific opinion believes) human-caused global warming is real, in which case, our collective disinterest and naysaying will prove catastrophic.  More Sandy and Katrina-like events... now that's funny!

What, Al Gore and his Hollywood cronies didn't fly in for the event?

Maybe they flew their private planes to someone's island for a party instead.

Does it really matter which state is hit if the outcome is devastation, injury and death? Weather is a complete dunce when it comes to arbitration; it just hates everyone when the mood takes it. It's then up to humans to try and prepare and mitigate it.

Sandy and Katrina as being some proof of something extraordinary as far as hurricanes go is really playing to applying some agenda to something that otherwise would be considered normal expectation of the arrival of a storm. Just the tragedy of those storms was compounded by ineptitude of preparations and responses of local authorities.
To me any Global Climate Change is all having to do with the Sun and periodically changes. Anything political is dubious and basically is agenda driven as a means of enriching the people pushing the agenda. You don't have seaside towns without adequate seawalls. You don't make below sea  towns safe by not repairing the seawalls and dikes.

My God, there`s people lurking around that still cling to that incredible hoax of global warming?

I actually find that...incredible.

I'm not surprised.  Things like evidence and facts consistently elude right-set participants in this board.  What do you possibly hope to gain by opposing the reality of rising temperatures and rising seas?  Will you be on your roof during the next hurricane  induced flood giving Al Gore the finger?  More power to you.  Gore's a schmuck but the science is true.

"billions trading carbon credits"?  Right.  He just made $500 million selling his half-ass TV "network" to Al Jazeera but the real kill was in cornering the carbon credits market?!? Who the hell needs the Daily Show or Colbert?!? You guys brighten my day!

What do you expect to do to prevent rising temperatures and rising seas? First you live on a dynamic planet in a dynamic solar system with a star that changes constantly. The Earth warms  and it cools. Earth has Ice Ages and it has thaws. Rises and falls of various life forms and cataclysmic crashes in populations of various dominant life forms. I lived on the coast of Florida from 1965 till 1997. I saw them take the two natural dune lines and level them and build condos on the beach without the natural barrier nature provided. I watched the government build a jetty so that Trident subs could enter Port Canaveral that caused the sand to stop replenishing the beach and also destroyed the Earth's largest and most productive scallop bed.
Then you have all the doom sayers and chicken littles running around either preaching doom or trying to scam people into enriching them or taxing us into the black hole of the treasury only to enrich more bankster frauds and cronies.
After the end of the last 'ice age' the sea level rose 200-300 feet as shown by recent discoveries of ancient cities off coasts of several places on Earth. Earth temperatures are rising as those are rising on Mars too. We do have a problem if the methane ices on the sea bottoms become gaseous.
It has been curious here in South Carolina this summer. Coolest summer I can remember .Have had 6 days in the 90's only. most in mid and low 80's.
Last couple days in the 70's and nights in the 60's IN AUGUST!
The Government upchucked a couple trillion and talked about infrastructure and jobs there related but then sent all the money out to bail bankster fraudulent investments and not much got done except bankster swine got big bonus checks. No infrastructure projects were done.
It is the old crises-solution scam to  suck wealth out of the people. It is the same game the Norman Knights did to people less overt robbery and ever more subtle in the violence used but basically the same old paradigm. All wrapped up in this Agenda 21 that is being implemented at a slow boil on we froggies.
The Government boohoos about money to fix roads and bridges yet every gallon of fuel we buy is taxed to provide for that. Yet they have no money for the jobs. They want more taxes. What do they do with fuel road taxes? More Government fraud .
No money for social security. The government opened SS into the general fund during Johnson admin. to pay for the Viet Nam War. Government still twits through the collection of the funds.
All of it makes me think of what the Italian people did to Mussolini at his end and where can we get reels of piano wire.

you raise some hard to answer questions. I won't begin to attempt an answer.

But the dynamic solar system is kind of non-science all wrapped up in science. And the kicker is no matter what I show you to support the science argument someone else will show another piece of half understood evidence supporting the non-science, that will take much more time to explain than I care to spend.

Yes we live in a solar system with a sun that every ~11 years changes it's luminescence. But the change in energy that actually hits our pencil point planet (in comparison to the size of the sun) is about 1/10th of one percent.

Over 95% of astrophysicists and climate scientists are in agreement about the changes in our atmosphere secondary to greenhouse gases.

QuoteWhile evidence suggests fluctuations in solar activity can affect climate on Earth, and that it has done so in the past, the majority of climate scientists and astrophysicists agree that the sun is not to blame for the current and historically sudden uptick in global temperatures on Earth, which seems to be mostly a mess created by our own species.
http://www.livescience.com/1349-sun-blamed-warming-earth-worlds.html

Do we need to reign in government spending? well yeah. but that is another issue and conflation with this issue seems to me rather short sighted.

and:

http://www.nbcnews.com/id/18659716/ns/business-going_green/t/market-carbon-offsets-raises-questions/

and what did I find?  A conspiracy to corner the market on carbon cap and trade?  No, I found Gore doing two things conservatives always chide liberals for not doing:
1) using a market based solution to fix a societal problem and
2) putting his money where his mouth is.

Even when he does things the way you want, it still isn't good enough.
But please, continue to believe man-made climate change is a myth and pour as much carbon into our skies and oceans as you would like.  You won't suffer for it (probably) but your children will.  That's their problem.

Climate change is caused by Indians eating too much stinky curry. So in keeping with the theme of this thread, here's some links to some op-eds and British tabloids that support my position / pet conspiracy.
